Anyone else notice the MP in this turn into Spamzone as people gain ranks? At least on the small maps, once you unlock the portable spawn zones and people start spawning next to the other teams spawn point and spamming grenades/bullets, it gets a little ridiculous. I've been on both sides of the spawn camping and it's simply not fun. I thought this was supposed to be a tactical shooter, not some explosion circle jerk?

But yeah, when the above doesn't happen, I love the MP. Fun stuff.

yeah, I usually avoid spawning in those areas and just go somewhere else. the maps are big enough.

I'm guessing that over time more 16 slot servers and such will show up where things will be a lot less crazy and allow for some more tactical and team oriented play with squads becoming important and stuff.

Bump on this thread. I'm thinking of buying Killzone 2, but there's one thing holding me back. I've played the demo, I've tweaked the controls back and forth, I've tried to get used to it, but I just can't.

The aiming is just so fucking unresponsive, no I really HATE the sluggish aiming acceleration this game has. I searched for this on google, and found loads of people complaining about it, and some idiots claiming it's realistic, yeah right, realistic my fucking ass, if I have a gun, and I aim it in real life. I won't start turning faster the more I turn, I'll turn it steady.

So my question is, have they done anything to change this shitty aiming or is it still this awkward? It's not that the aiming is hard, it's just unresponsive, I feel like I have to wait for my char to react to my aiming, that's bad. Sad

I really like what I'm seeing when I see the online play and such, but damn, this aiming...

Its bad, i bought the game and i managed to finish it but this game is nothing special if you ask me and the controls are very unresponsive, i sold it after a few days because multiplayer is no fun at all.

Sold it after a few days? too bad you missed the patch about a week after it was released, it tweaked the controls a LOT. I doubt the demo has the patch, so it probably still has the old controls. I haven't played in forever, but the unresponsive controls were pretty much fixed with the patch, and it made it far more enjoyable.

I sold it only a week ago, the controls in my opinion were still unresponsive.

Well they fix the controls with a patch . I will say it's 80 % better. But one of the reason why it wasn't fix 100% was because fanatics sony fanboys who where insisting that the controls where perfect.

I've played it before and after the patch. I also got the game free directly from the developer 4 weeks or so before release as one of my mates works for guerilla here in Amsterdam so I know exactly what the patch did tot he game and what it was supposed to do

The controls still suck in my opinion.

I have to agree, The delay controls put me off big time, I did try and stick it out for a while, But in the end i just couldn't put up with it, I did notice a little improvment after the patch, But not enough, Guerilla really did shoot themselves in the foot with the controls, The sales must have taken a dive because of it, Because i remember the massive amount of complaints over alot of forums about it, Mine's just sitting gathering dust now.

Pffft, Tuesday mine will be traded towards InFamous, I'm not interested in it anymore because I didn't like the SP, and I got to General the first 21 hours I had it. Plus I have no friends on PSN that play shooters, so I couldn't get together with people and play. Graphics were amazing, controls sucked balls, but I got used to it. The classes were cool, but when everyone started making general, it was a all out sniper match with whole teams hiding in stealth for a whole match.

I was looking forward to playing this game when I get a PS3, but after reading these comments I changed my mind. Sounds like just another average shooter ridiculously overrated by fanboys.

just started playing MP now, damn addicting leveling system

but i think i'm gonna be done with it when i hit the highest ranks...playing small matches with friends + headsets is fine, but all those bigger matches through matchmaking just end up in a huge clusterfuck Laughing
nade/rocket spam + limited moving abilities = just not that funny over the long run

In the same way fanboys will laud it as the greatest thing ever, there is people on the opposite end of the spectrum who downplay its significance. I personally lost interest, and my HDTV is on the mend, so I've not really had time to play any PS3 titles - let alone KZ2 - but it's not a bad game at all, even with the dodgy controls. It is in fact a good game marred by the PS3 taint, the PS3 taint which states it can't be a good game, it has to be the greatest game ever made, it has to make people want to buy a PS3. Otherwise it's nothing (compared to StarCraft 2).

Which is a shame, because it's a good game that got ripped apart by deluded demographics, and short-changed once again by Sony's marketing department.

If you can, rent this game. It easily finished on 2 days, even 1 day if you play straight through.
SP is no reason to buy this, not only because of the controls, but because of the gameplay itself... Atmosphere is great, but the level design is so boring, there is no special occasion that sticks in you head, it's all just gunning waves of enemies down. Not like in CoD4 where you have tons of great moments where you think "wow!"...

GOOD NEWS:: Killzone 2 Patch 1.27 Details

Control-wise, what exactly does the new ‘High Precision’ option do?

When this option is switched on, it makes the analog sticks more responsive to small movements. Turned off, the controls behave exactly as they did before the patch. It’s not a radical overhaul of the control system, so the layout and the ‘weight’ of the controls remain the same.

Still, a lot of us here at Guerrilla really enjoy the new High Precision option, so we’ve decided to switch it on by default for new players. Existing Killzone 2 players will have the option turned off by default after patching – we wouldn’t want to force a sudden change to the controls on you!

Well, the patch and the direction it's taking is good news, but the part I highlighted does not sound good at all, it's the weight I hate. I want no weight, I want it to feel fluid and smooth like CoD, Halo and any other console fps with good smooth aiming.

But I'll just have to wait until some people have tried it and can report how much better it feels.

*edit* Wait, the part I highlighted, is that when the new option is turned off or turned on? I can't discern what they mean exactly. heh

What i understand is that you have to options . Either you want to keep the current controls or switch to a newer one wich is more responsive. Maybe like cod controls.

I wouldnt think it'll be precise as COD4 this game has the perfect control method for a FPS Joypad as near as mouse keyboard you will get,Any improvement is a bonus But I think they will have to do something about the Blur motion when turning as well which would help the control method out too,Hopefully this could be turned off/on too in a future update

A lot of people would disagree with you including me. Perfect controls are far from true when you strive to aim correctly. And as for the COD remark i should put some emphasize marks on"MAYBE". I don't how the controls are going to change. Neither does any one else until the patch comes out.

I'm sick of this. I've REALLY tried to get into it - but its useless. Apart from the majorly shitty unreative controls, the environments are boring as fuck and the limited variety in enemies is even more boring.

How on earth has this got such good ratings? It's not _that_ good! I might swap it for inFamous

They do most the time, just some games either don't have the setting - or the settings are minimal and don't accomplish much.

i think the issue with this one is the delay before the character moves. i dont know why they've not removed it.

I was going to swap KZ2 for infamous yesterday at dudley market, The guy was selling it for £39.99, I asked how much he would give me for KZ2, He said £16, I thought you can go and f@£k yourself, He gets KZ2 and you give him £24 on top, I thought markets are supposed to be cheaper.
