rzr release here, everything working great, no problems at all
during the installation it just asked for files that were in the mounted dvd, just pointed to the dvd and installation went thru fine . . . |
Be sure to confirm the following before you claim that everything works fine.
1. you are able to hear muskets, and horses and other sound effects in battles.
2. you are able to play the road to independence campaign past the 1 st battle.

Been playing for hours. No issues for me. Steam patched and ran fine. Using legit copy of the game though.
Very fun game.
Back to playing.

I got the same sound problems as everyone else. Dunno about crash in campaign coz I didn't have time to try it yet. Game runs smooth at ultra hight 4xAA 8xAF 1680x1050 which is nice.

bought the game off of steam and i too am having the sound glitch. even more annoying is the fact that the UI font is completely illegible at 1280x720. same priblem on DoW2 and sacred 2. gonna hve to mod the game myself and that shit pisses me off. otherwise the game looks awesome and is a fuckload of fun!

Has anyone played multiplayer yet? Why do I hear stupid clanging sounds all the time?... I've had two crashes online so far which is not exactly promising but what little I got to play was still fun.

I have to agree, they didn't even test past the first level before releasing this game. There wasn't that much effort put into it.

Good effort? Yeah, let's give them a C- for effort. |
This is a pathetic effort and should be nuked.
Steam Rips should be scene banned.
They are difficult to patch, usually bugged and in the case of this one, unplayable (due to crashes and missing sound (unless u happen to be deaf).
B
PS : Even more annoying is that the "FIX" will probably be a re-release which will no doubt be another 12 gig download.

Hah. Trust me, races to the 0-hour release always end up bad. RELOADED has been huge proof in the past along with other groups, being NUKED and FIXED and again and again...
It's not the group that brings you the 0-hour release, it's the group that brings you the fully working release that gets the credit in the end.

Exactly.
I dont care if it takes a week or two to release as long as it releases as a fully working release.
I can understand missing triggers/disk checks that are hidden deep in the game but having most of the sound missing and crashes in the first mission is weak.
At the end of the day, it is free - but considering some people have ratios/download limits etc, a 12 gig f**k up that could have been avoided is pretty lame.

I totally agree.I don't want to go to the scene wars conflict. We have a playable release.
That's what counts for me.

i don't think someone is sitting next to you pointing a gun to your head and forcing you to download this release, so quit whining and don't take everything for granted. if you've got something against steam rips, go join boundle on his neverending quest

Nobody forced you to download 1 minute after release. If you are so sceptic with 0-hour releases why don't you wait just one hour to see the problems that may occur?

No and no one forced you to make silly comments on an internet forum but here you are all the same.
