hey, this is my first time posting, so i hope this is in the right place.. but i'm trying to play CMR 2005 here, and in both, the Championship and the Career mode, the game crashes whenever i try to go to the "Car Setup" section. Is anyone else having this problem or is it just me? And if it isn't just me, how do i fix it? i'm trying to reinstall the game right now, maybe that will help.
here's who i am
P4 2.6Ghz HT
64mb Radeon 9000 Pro
On-Board Sound (Asus MB)
512mb DDR

I think there is a problem with the Ultima-release. Sorry.
You should read the thread about the release. Someone said something about it there.

It's the language files that are corrupt:
Whole_E.lng
Whole_S.lng
Whole_G.lng
Whole_F.lng
Whole_I.lng
Only the Polish file is correct, I really hop there will be a FIX to correct these files, cause the game is unplayable in Polish.
I'm just glad I didn't spend my money on the game, Codemasters suck.
So ULTIMA did do it right, the game is non-functioning because Codemasters can't program their own game properly.

A collection of bugfixes for Colin McRae Rally 2005 PC.
This patch will fix the following issues with the game:
1) Any instances of seeing white grass on tracks should now be gone
2) There should be no more flasing sun textures when using "Handicap" on splitscreen games
3) There is now an option to turn off sun effects within the game, this is achieved my running
the game from a command prompt with the "NOSUN" command line option
4) All engine tests now give you the same amount of time to complete them
5) You can now go straight back from High texture quality to Medium texture quality
6) There should be no more flashing sun effects when driving around tracks
7) The random weather in online races will now correctly be random, and not taken
from the previous race

If you buy the retail there is no problem right? Would that mean I could get the file from someone with the a bought retail? How big are the files I need by the way?

Well I wouldn't risk buying this game since this bug is reported in the official forum, and they could own the original game.
So I wait for a FIX, can't take that long.
