Ever since I had my hands on rpg maker 2000  I was working on this sweet rpg game.  but I had to stop due to inauspicious deaths in the family  . That was way way way way way back and just now I found my saved project Oh the title was ‘cabal’ it’s the same title I’m using now for my other ‘project’ that is currently in the works haha so yeah  I want to make an rpg game Any ideas what should go into an home made rpg game?  Should I allow people to pick different classes? Or pokemon style where the path is before you and you’re following a yellow brick road? Since I have 2 weeks off of ‘work’ I was thinking I could start re-working it. I have a friend who can draw environments for me. I got names of the characters. I got the story (made me laugh but it’s good better than the shit you see these days ). I just don’t know what elements I should use. Weeeeeeeeeeee!
Ps. this is for my own personal gain. This game will never ever in a gazzlion years see the light of day until I publish the book that is which will be in 3-4 years hahahahahahahahhaha raptors lost again FUCKING LOSERS! Hahahahaha how do you not use teamwork! HOW! God damn

Yeah but if I were to 'mass produce' this game I would have to remove 'weed' cause it might influence gamers into doing drugs
But what I can do, since the story is in a dream world and real world, I could make it that if the main character were to smoke ‘weed’ he’d be able to see the hidden things in the dream world. Like secret passages. Like Riddick’s ‘shine eyes’ but more of a ‘show all’ type thing. Temporarily though like a minute or two.
How big should the maps be? Like the whole world on one map and you go from a to b and only buildings have different maps or use teleport? Have sections of an area blocked off by a rocky ridge?
and no this won't need voice talent if I make and I’ll like it then maybe I’ll add some 'narrator stuff'
I got to make it so you have a translator in the game  and he'll cost like 100 gold and that's all you'll have at the moment. So if you don't buy him every other character in the. if it isn't human, won't speak English.

pwned! got my first map/event/ set up
took me 3 hours fuck how long should a rpg take to beat? i don't want to waste four months to make a 40 hour long game
