Pretty nice demo, kind of a mix between NWN and Fable with "auto"-fighting similar to WoW.. I like the graphics and artwork (much nicer than NWN1-2 which i've always disliked - very crappy character design for example..).
The characters looks good, animations are good, camera and interface works great as far as i've noticed (played for 40 mins maybe). Not as immersive as Oblivion or Gothic, more like the usual Bioware game (cant jump/cilmb or swim, a bit linear level design, AI seems to be very basic not like Gothic or Oblivion where they sleep, work etc). Could be pretty fun nonetheless.

Hmm the animations great?
Well the animations in themselves are not that bad, not very good either, but the way you and the enemys "interact" while fighting looks real bad. No biggi i guess but still...
The camera moves around all the time so you need to adjust it way to often imo. I would love to be abel to lock it.

It is a pretty good game. Many character customization options and different skills. Also a lot of NPCs to join, even though many of them have very little Baldur's Gate style "banter". The music and sounds are also very good at least in the German version. Also nice areas but the story is a bit cliché. I liked the game but it didn't exactly blow me away.

Moves around? It didn't act strange for me at all, worked like WoW or any other third person game. The animations were smooth, they got praised in the IGN review too. I didn't say they were great I said they were good, which they are.

Localized file from the game, goes to the \Export\DB folder and probably requires the latest patch for the German version to be installed to function with it.

This is the official translation and not the fan one?

It's just 1.5MB Beckman. Is that normal? This tiny file contains the voiceovers and text?

Only text for now, intro cinematic and voices aren't updated and neither are textures such as the prologue introduction before you create a character.
It's a pretty small file and I'll see if I can get some other ones up but I probably can't get the voice files uploaded.
ENG version should work with GER saves as it seems to be based on the German 1.2 version and also contains the high-resolution texture pack.

Voice files might be possible after all due to their size as I don't need to include the music file but the intro video is a 16:9 HD movie at 580 MB so I can't do much about it, only explains a bit about the game lore though so I guess most people can be without it.
Unsure where to get the textures from but I can unpack the archives and create "mod" if I find them.

Do you mean the HR textures? It can be downloaded from a couple of places like torrent and some sites, but it's 1.7GB, so pretty huge. You shouldn't bother really, an English release will probably be available soon enough.

Thanks Beckmann, fast as always. Did the German release (Koeningswasser) have the HR textures? I assume I have to download the pack manually?
And the patch (1.02) seems to be from November. Is that the latest patch?

1.02 is the latest yes. And the HR pack is a manual download.
I thought the 1.02 was included in the Koeningswasser release.
