Lulz, like they've ever seen a profit from these regions to know how much piracy hurts PC sales...

Console games havent succeeded that way because even if you buy the disks of these guys, you still need to mod your console. And 90% of console owners still believe modding/hacking your console can damage it and put it out of warranty. There is also the general perception that modding reduces shelf life of the console!!!! |
When Fable 2 and Gears of Wars 2 released in a Private torrent site there where 12000 people they where downloading those 2 games.Do you think its a small number? Similar numbers for Similar good games in PSP oR WII.

not all right for me. depend from the kind of DRM and how many triggers they put then. that crackers have to break a DRM and then u can't play is almost useless. look to sacred 2 or red alert 3 anyway they don't have a proper crack and RA 3 then have uncrackables patches |
As for Sacred 2 the game is very buggy and i believe the crack groups are waiting for a final good patch to crack the game.In one month of the release of the game we have 3 patches. The Red Alert doesnt work with the RELOADED crack? Ok they havent cracked the pacthed version, you cant wait for that? The game has benn releases one week ago.

Updated release date for this and a bit of everything else Ubisoft has to offer.
Quote: |
Fourth-quarter 2008-09 sales
The fourth quarter of the fiscal year will see the following main releases:
Tom Clancy's HAWX for the Xbox 360, PC and PlayStation 3
Tom Clancy's EndWar for PC
Grey's Anatomy: The Video Game for the Nintendo DS, Wii and PC
New casual games for the Nintendo DS and Wii, including Imagine, Petz and Jake Power titles
...
Update on the games release schedule
"I Am Alive" will require further development time and will now bolster the line-up for 2009-10.
....
Initial targets for 2009-10
Yves Guillemot continued: "2009-10 looks very promising and our teams are working flat-out to provide gamers with the best the industry has to offer. Our line-up comprises several potential blockbusters with the launch of 7 franchises, including Assassin's Creed, Splinter Cell and Ghost Recon, as well as 4 license-based games including James Cameron's Avatar, 3 new brands and a further-enhanced casual games portfolio. Although we have to be cautious in light of the current economic environment, we expect Ubisoft to once again be one of the most dynamic and profitable publishers in the games industry in 2009."
...
|
EDIT: Fourth Quarter fiscal year doesn't mean Q4 2009 by the way, unsure how it's set up though.
(Heh, it's says at the bottom of the site actually - January to March 2009)

PC Hands On @ IGN
Seems the game will be out in March.
From the sound of it, if one chooses not to use voice commands, controls will be similar to Full Spectrum Warrior in regards to the camera - it will be locked to the units currently selected, but clicking on terrain or other units will make them carry the orders. Don't want to comment prematurely how this control dynamic will work, but initial reaction is "WHY THE FUCK DID YOU NOT MAKE THE CONTROLS LIKE WORLD IN CONFLICT FFS!?", but I'll wait for a demo (official or "covert") to judge.
On the good news, seems like another well made port by Ubisoft:
IGN wrote: | Along with this preview are a few videos pulled directly from the build. For capture we were running the game at 1920 x 1080 resolution with the graphics setting on 'high,' dynamic shadows enabled, 4X AA, and bloom, motion blur, and distortion 'on.' EndWar was running on a system with a Core 2 Quad 2.4 GHz CPU, GeForce 8800 GTX 768 MB graphics card, 2 GB of RAM, on Vista 32. |

I'm exactly the opposite, I find myself changing camera controls to WASD and trying to zoom in too much because I'm used to the WiC controls... I found them just so well done. At first I was "oh no, what is this crap? *insert Picard 'what is this shit' picture*" but it grew on me to the point I just miss that control scheme in all RTT games. I'm sure however that that scheme would not work properly on an RTS, but for RTT I think it was a smart step in the right direction.

It is not only the controls, it is the game itself. Played it on the 360 with pad and voice-command. Well it was very rudimentary even for pad controls. The game plays like a mashup between Total War and World in Conflict but they did forget the fun and indepth of those. Hoping for a demo or I will buy it, when it is in low budget section for 10 Euros or so.

I know how it ran on the consoles, and it seemed quite logical for consoles to use such a control method because of the limited input capabilities of the controller. It is certainly better (in my opinion) control method than the one offered in Halo Wars, Universe at War and C&C 3 for the consoles, where they just made the same controlling method as the PC, only the camera is centered on the cursor. It is also logical to use this method on PC when someone chooses to use a headset. But they should at least allow the option for the normal control method for mouse users.

Personally, due to the voice activated nature of the game, I say this game is better suited TO consoles. Either that or ffs, remove the camera lock on the PC port :-\

I just wish this wasn't developed by the chinese. I don't mean to sound rascist, but why in gods name would Ubi Shanghai get to develop this, when Xbox Live isn't even allowed in China? I'm playing this on my 360 right now, and it's sad how the developers are ignoring the community, when it was supposed to be Ubisofts most supported game.

The game is so unfinished, and the developers always fuck something up every once in a while. For example, last friday, just disappeared. Everything that happened in the ToW last friday was gone on saturday, all the money, promotions and wins at areas. They should fix the console versions before they make it for the PC. It also doesn't help that their 24/7 support only works five days a week.

Pfft, there is nothing DX120 can do that DX119 can't! It's all a hoax from MicrosoftEA for you to buy Ubindows 78. Since the merger, they've been pushing really hard that DRM infested memory hog crap.

There is a way to play with mouse+kb. Read some of the preview posted on previous pages.

From what I've read you can do both, mouse+keyboard for conventional RTS commands or a Mic for some extra functions, unsure if a microphone brings any advantages or if it's just a unique feature.
(Game might also support a gamepad for all I know as it's probably a port but I'm not sure about it as it's a RTS title.)
