I don't know if that problem was sorted but i managed to get the icon into Rocketdock by creating a desktop shortcut from within steam and it was draggable onto the dock.

I have win7, and none of the problems, except for the longer loadtimes, which I don't think are due to the OS you use...

I just looked at the clock while the game was loading, took 1:40 from menu to game, not really too bad but it does feel like it's taking longer.

Just wanted to be able to launch the demo from "Rocket Dock" did not work by just dragging a short cut for some reason.

So I had to put in the location of the exe manually for the ETW icon, and now it works.

just a few heads up bout the game

"No more delays. The retail version is already done. You'll get the first patch on the 4th via steam."

and also..

"that the demo was really really old. It seemed quite outdated compared to the full game. "

along with

"It is now possible to save campaign battle replays.

The diplomacy now makes real sense. If you are in an alliance with someone you can try to get them to help you attacking someone, but if they decline your request your relations won't suffer.
If you are being attacked, however, and your allies don't help you, the alliance will end.
Also you can now see why exactly a faction likes or dislikes you and there is a map showing your reputation with all the other factions.

Your form of government will change with rebellions.

The AI has really improved. It will now try to keep its forces together, and either fight you from a distance from which you can't fight back, or, if they think, they are superior to you, engage in melee.
Also it won't charge blindly into your musket fire with their cavalry...
If it knows that there is no alternative to attacking your units in melee they will wait until your units have fired at them from the distance, hitting nearly nothing, and then they will charge while your units are reloading.

Pirates can be a real pain in the ass blocking your sea trade routes, but they are quite easy to get rid of.

There are so called trade regions (I don't know if they have been mentioned in any official english statements yet), which are Indonesia, the Ivory coast (?), Brazil and Madagascar, which you can send trade fleets to in order to get rare ressources.
You should escort them with battleships because everyone with a navy of his own can just take over your trade ships if you don't guard them.
There is only a limited number of spaces available for you to "park" your trade ships in so you better occupy them fast or make some smart diplomatic agreements.

You can influence the availability of resources by raiding plantages. This should lead to trade wars.

There is a system of steam achievements for players playing online.

All units speak in the language of their country."

Indeed it does, the demo was quite good as well, even if it is an older version.
I for one, can't wait.

i just have steam (like all games and software i want seperate) installed in a sandbox
it's still steam, and it still sucks, but atleast it's seperated from your OS and it won't dick around behind your back anymore

like with many other games, it's possible the crack will remove the steam requirement, as it clearly is not a vital part of the game (apart form multiplayer achievements and shit)

I didnt think it was a good demo at all, the enemy AI just sucked and the loading times where the worst ever, even changing one graphics option could cause as long loading time...

nice way to 'demo'nstrate your game...

Why wouldn't they make a demo out of newest build? It doesen't make sence, they release demo, mention nothing about it being early version, then after some bad feedback they release statement about how improved full version is and how spectacular is their AI.

because it takes time to make a demo and they are not wasting more than nescassery on a demo. A game in development gets fixed and patched every day. Thats why the demo is outdated. The demo is just to give the gamers an idea of what to expect and doesn't show the game in all its glory.
