What do ya mean by that? You have to accomplish the task at a specific time or what? I haven't tried the game yet. Confused

There's one time in level 2 you need to find 2 dynamites in like 4 mins. Haven't played too much but only seen it in level 2 so far. Can only think of him talking about that.

Could also be talking about the challenge room levels,but they are optional.
But after level 2 there are no other "timed level" afaik.

game reeks.. a lot like painkiller too bad we're in 2009 and expect a lot more from a game.

Painkiller is exactly what I expect from a game that calls itself a brainless dumb check-brain-in-the-door shooter, expecting you to not think at all. Very few (if any) games during the last two years have been able to fulfill these expectations. I'm pretty sure that Necrovision does, though.

Fixed.

Call it what you like. I just happened to find "shooters" like Far Cry 2 or Crysis boring as hell, while having fond memories of enjoying the fun and straight-forward gameplay of Painkiller over and over again (even the not-so-good Overdose add-on).

That's why it kind of hurts me if people not only bash a game like Necrovision, but even imply that they would prefer it in a way that would most likely make it boring for me and on top of that, state this opinion as fact.

uh..
yea, this is no painkiller
attempt at story telling, key/button hunts and puzzles are exactly the opposite of what made painkiller fun
and what's with the slow underpowered weapons?
the guns in painkiller were carved out of giant penises.. these are generic fluff
i wouldn't mind if they were manmade weapons, as long as they had some BALLS
this game has none

yeah this is much more scripted than the brainless painkiller

although yeah if you don't shoot in the head it really does take quite a decent amount of hits to take some foe down, fuckers just keep on getting up

Love this game. The timed level did suck, but wtf, Halo Wars has a timed lvl on the 3rd level which SUCKS and it's from Bungie/MS...so stop bashing 1C, they also brough Sturmovik 1942 for those that know, one of the best if not the best WW2 fly sims available.

after you pick up and detonate the first one, you'll open up a path back the way you came from and also some enemies will respawn there. there's plenty of time, especially if you run towards it

nah, it's not final, i think there's more than half left.
there are three antennas, iirc. just run around and shoot those whenever he starts recharging. they go down with a few rockets from the suit. the scorpion goes down soon afterwards.

There's twelve maps and the scorpion boss is on the end of the sixth level if I remember correctly so a bit under half the game left.

Bit stuck on the seventh level though, supposed to find a key and it's pretty hard to even see anything in the dark caves I'm exploring, other than that no complaints.

Patch for the Russian version, figured I should mention it but based on the translated changelog it's not needed for the International editions as they're already up-to-date.

Code:

Multiplayer is now compatible with the international version of NecroVisioN;
//\\ - Probably means it's now updated to work with the other versions.

The bug, which some letters can not be raised, and read;
//\\ - Font changes perhaps

improved game performance on some systems, as well as fix the error, leading to instability of the game;
//\\ - Various optimizations and fixes

corrected visual shortcomings identified.
//\\ - Visual bugs perhaps.

Sorry for bringing back an 4-pages old thread. I stopped playing this game a while ago thinking it was yet another boring shooter. Wow I'm glad I gave it another try and people who just tried the first levels should too.

The gameplay completely change slowly through the game, starting with a bad COD-style game and zombies, but at some point (after the ww2 levels) it's just sick fun like painkiller with combos, 2 overpowered weapons at once and some spell casting. Challenge rooms are great too, and very helpful for unlocking new weapons.

Why did you apply the 1.1 update on the retail English version?

It was meant for the Russian edition to bring it up to date with the English and ensure compatibility in for example multiplayer between both editions so it's not required for English users. Smile
(Unless there's a second 1.1 update available for the international versions.)

I got the patch from patches-scrolle

Download: www.patches-scrolls.de/necrovision.php

List of changes:

- rendering performance improved, especially for higher settings of dynamic shadows and ambient occlusion
- level loading times shortened as well as quick-save loading times
- playing online between users having different language editions is possible (Russian edition was incompatible with other versions)
- "Man of Courage" (Normal) difficulty level more balanced (easier)
- gas mask now works properly in Necromancer's Return mode and in Stronghold level
- possibility of crash after saving in paticular area in Trench Warfare level fixed
- minor menu options placement corrections
- problem with possible shotgun jamming while using 'Pure fatality' combo fixed
- bug, preventing player from placing Geballte ladung by the door in The Hill level, after loading the game, fixed
- possibility of crash after skipping the cutscene with the dragon on The Hill level in Necromancer's Return mode fixed
- minor formatting bugs and inconsistencies in the dialogues, grammar mistakes and single overlapings inside menus and cutscenes corrected
- added support for no-driver 16:9 format screens (thanks Sebastien "ztorm" Essel for help)

!! IMPORTANT !!
*** This patch works for all versions of the game with exception of special German (non-violent) edition, Czech and Russian edition ***
