after changing case/psu pc getting in to sleep mode but all the fans are still spinning, could it be coz psu has only 20pin atx connector instead of 24?
if yes will 20 to 24 pin convertor will do the job or psu needs to be replaced?

same pc config, same Vista x64, only different psu

any ideas?

24-pin PSUs were introduced for graphics card and HDD stabilization, and it is generally recommended to use 24-pin PSUs. Converters, from what I have read on other forums, cause even more instability issues. If the PSU has only 20 pins, it is probably very old, and you should replace it with a good one.

That said, I don't believe the sleep issues are caused by the PSU. Try playing with the hybrid sleep option in the power options, maybe it has something to do with it.

psu works stable and pc isn't that hi-end so it's sufficient enough, as i said it was working as it is with new psu but i build other pc with it
so i had to use my old trusty enermax 350w 26a on 12v

Hmmmmmm I will do that for my mouse as well. Sometimes I accidentally push my desk and my G9 (ultra sensitive) wakes the PC up.
