That's what you get in-game:
The following elite units are included as part of the Empire: Total War Special Forces Edition. This premium packaged edition for aficionados of the Total War series comes complete with an illustrated campaign map and unique Steam unlock code. Once the game is installed and verified by Steam, players can enter their code and unlock these elite units which will then appear in the single player game.
HMS Victory:
The Royal Navy's most distinguished and formidable first rate ship of the line; Lord Nelson's 104 gun flagship is one of the most heavily armed ships of the 18th Century.
Rogers' Rangers:
Major Robert Rogers' company of rangers are highly trained elite light infantry, specialising in reconnaissance and special operations. They are extremely mobile in even the most challenging environments.
Ottoman Organ Gun:
A viciously powerful field gun, able to inflict incredible damage on the opposing army. Emphatic proof of the Ottoman Empire's advanced knowledge of gunpowder and firearms technology.
Ghoorkas:
"Better to die than be a coward" has been the motto of these elite Nepalese soldiers for centuries. Disciplined, tough and courageous, they carry a deadly 18-inch long, curved knife known as the kukri.
Corso Terrestre Guerillas:
An independent light infantry guerrilla regiment, experienced in skirmish and stealth tactics. Surprise raids and ambushes are the guerillas' favoured tactics, a way to compensate for their limited number and light armour.
Bulkeley's Regiment:
A French unit of Irish mercenaries with a fearsome reputation for hardiness. Exceptionally tough and resilient, they make for a highly flexible and dependable regiment.
Beside that you'll get a map, art book, nice (wooden ?) box and maybe a compass and a can.

This is interesting. All Total War games, including Empire, for 60 euro.

My question is, can you use mods with steam versions?

It's missing the 2 first Total War games ...
Shogun was fucking epic, they should make Shogun 2 Total War, instead of Empire.

I fully agree. Shogun was a fantastic game. Together with Rome, my favourite. I just can't play it anymore. Too spoiled by modern graphics.

Anyone buying the Collector's Edition? I switched my pre-order to the CE yesterday.
Anyone know what comes with the Collector's Edition? Usually, CE's comes with a code or 2.
And since E:TW is based on the same engine as M2TW (just upgraded or enhanced or whatever) the add_money cheat should work right? Cuz the add_money cheat has worked since Rome:TW. |
Didn't you get Cheat Engine after CaptainCox (I think it was?) explained how to use it in the Mass Effect thread? Way better than trainers, since it isn't affected by version updates etc.
If I wanna cheat, I almost always use it even if the game has cheat codes of its own. |
yeah, but I dont know how to use it.
If no cheats are out when E:TW is released, can you help me find the money cheat?

Well, from what I've heard, you get 20 turns of the American campaign and a couple of historical battles.
I could be wrong.

Go to IGN or GameSpot and, with a registered account, you can get email alerts to info on the game, GameSpot's given me 2 recently, each time my first though was "Demo", but alas, I am without. ;(

Cool thanks man. Cause thats the one thing I hate about TW games. The money. Its a bitch to balance your economy and win total domination style. I like having all the money I need and focusing on all the other aspects of the game.
I beat M2TW without money cheats twice and fuck...horrible. Such a pain in the ass balancing everything.

I never cheated in a total war game. I kinda like the challenge that comes from having limited resources... because if you have unlimited money you can always get the best units and that makes things too easy.
When you're low on money you have to do extra funky stuff, like sending in peasents first to wear down the enemy before you attack them with your better units.
But yeah to each his own. it's just a game, and games are supposed to be fun. do whatever you have the most fun with :-)

Never cheated too, and still i can manage to be top1,2 or 3 richest faction in the game i am playing . . .
It is all about managing . . .
Put merchants, do trade upgrades first in your cities, do not have tons of very very big armies . . .

Is the merchant micro-managing really worth it?
Given how much they cost, how quickly they get "taken over" by AI merchants, and how small their output is (even on a long term scale given how many you lose), I never bothered with Merchants in Medieval 2: Total War.
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

i only use merchants from guilds, which have high skill, so they dont get buy out by other merchants
and i do not put them on every resource, but only in the valuable ones . . .
