Well, this is a little disappointing. Looks like the 2 new versus campaigns are Dead Air and Death Toll in Versus mode. I say why wait! Download the versus maps of Dead Air and Death Tool from the link in the comments from ikff.Drake. There are instructions too! I have done this and it is really fun!
http://ve3d.ign.com/articles/news/44585/Left-4-Dead-Survival-Pack-DLC-Detailed
Here is to hoping they release some new exciting campaigns later in 2009. Or at least the mod community can go crazy with the SDK!

I just checked the source (gametrailers tv episode) from the above link and it was very much a one line statement about Valve doing DLC, the new versus maps and the new mode. They read the press release and interpreted it, nothing new on the table really.
Press release wrote: | plus two complete campaigns for Versus Mode |
If it indeed is only the two missing versus's, what the hell have they doing wih their time at Valve? I mean clearly it was a missing part of the released game, it should sorta get priority shouldn't it.. I want two new campaigns But hey atleast we PC'ers get it for free.

Sorry syke247 but I don't think this'll be free for PC users, SDK update for creating custom content will be made freely available but I guess they'll charge for the actual game DLC although probably not any larger sums.

That patch and the SDK should be out by now. I'm pretty disappointed.

It can't be that hard to make new campaign maps :-( |

Just cause the SDK isn't out doesn't mean you can't start planning or create a map.

The press release says it will come with a price tag, but consider that Valve has to break it to Xbox360 owners that Microsoft requires them to sell it at a price. I have a pretty good feeling it will be free for the PC: Spoiler: | CannibalChris says:
As soon as I saw the Edge article, I, in what can only be a drunken mistake, sent this sorta hurtful email to Gabe Newell.
Dear Mr Newell,
When I learned the the Left 4 Dead “Survival Pack” would not be free on PC, this is the moment my faith in democracy died.
Living in Australia, the retail version of Left 4 Dead is and always has been AU$100. On Steam, the current price (including conversion rates) tips around AU$80 - AU$90.
So, assuming this “Survival Pack” is around US$10, I (and many other Australian and probably UK fans) will be paying at least twice this price.
So I guess what I’m really saying is, why? Why not give the “Survival Pack” stuff away for free? The SDK is nice ‘n’ all, but it seems a right and royal kick to the nuts that I should have to spend AU$120 on a game that people in America are getting for $60.
It reminds me a lot of Fallout 3’s “Operation Anchorage” expansion. I was lucky enough to have a friend send me the Installer, but for people who have paid the full AU$20 for ONE NEW QUEST… it’s just awful, really.
And same with this “Survival Pack”. One new game mode? 2 new maps? Valve has always provided Free Updates… Day of Defeat: Source underwent an engine change, practically changing the whole face of the game… for free. Team Fortress 2 has had more the 50 new achievements added… also for free. Left 4 Dead should be continuing this tradition.
Maybe by Spring my mind would have changed on this issue. But for now, I feel I need some consolance… and if you, or Valve’s marketing guys, or Doug “Episode 2’s ending was My Idea” Lombardi can’t do it… then no-one can.
Thanks for your time,
Enraged Fan
And I got this reply from Gabe:
It’s free as it’s always been.
Needless to say, he showed me.

www.l4dmaps.com has some playable maps (some nice stuff coming) and www.l4dmods.com has some mods (the survival mod is nice but since there is no sdk a pain to install)

Well, it's free eventually. For both 360 and PC.

Correct. It's a shitty deal, and shouldn't even be called a DLC. It's just a regular patch. 2 other campaigns should have been included in Versus from the get go. They are clearly not up to the standards of TF2 as far as content and patches goes. I don't expect anything in the future either, expect from mod/map makers.

Free for both PC and 360, I fucking love Valve, even though they screw up sometimes.
I'd rather have new gamemodes than maps tbh, and this DLC delivers that.
