Considering this will be a new engine split over 3 environments - Campaign map/ land battles/ naval battles i´m expecting a lot of bugs on release.
I´m planing on waiting a couple of weeks until the first patch cames along.. to decide on purchase but can i resist the 15Gb download version...if it cames sooner!

I've said that for every game they released and then bought it in first couple of weeks. I'm still bitching myself for buying Rome though.

Have they made any mention of improving upon the atrocious path-finding issues when unit sizes are set to Large/Huge? That's one bug that has really ruined it for me since the beginning, and it doesn't seem that they are keen on addressing the problem.

I'm excited and looking forward to this one as well - but goddammit if my men insist of going around the stockade wall instead of going through the fucking gate when ordered its going to be a no-buy out of principle - until they fix the pathing.

There must be some sort of fortifications...

There are lots of forts in the game. Remember the movies the patriot or The Last of the Mohicans? Very similar situations in the game.

I think their are some Star shaped Forts - does must be a challenge.
Wooden forts and most of medieval fortifications wont be a challenge for the 18 cent. arty. Anyway this is the century of the illumination, battles are fought in the outskirts of city's by professional army's.. until Napoleon cames by and makes it a citizens affair but that is for another chapter - next expansion?

go to gamespot.com and watch their vids.

they have a vid covering one of the campaigns, the Revolutionary War one between England and the US. They have wicked fortifications man.

And I can't wait to lead the King's army against the Yanks! Very Happy

And to those saying there will be bugs, every game has bugs. But fuck, patches will come out and since your gunna download it anyway as TW games come out usually a week before they hit the stores, your gunna play it and it will have bugs.
Buy it, play it and then patch when patches are released.

Anyway, I couldn't help it. I want this game bad. The ppl that make TW games usually do a really good job and probably it will have few small bugs so im good.
THis is my game of the year. Unless they release MGS5, it will be game of the year.

But I do agree, the Naval battles will probably have a few kinks. But the rest of the game will be fine.
Ive read a few hands on previews and the game was 90% complete and I think I read about 2 very minor bugs.

So I doubt it will be another GTA IV. It will be great from day of release.

I suggest buying this game. This is not a game you pirate as it has years of replay value. I still play M2TW and M2TWK and that came out 3 years ago. Empire will keep me busy for AT LEAST 6 months before I have to take a month break.

If it comes out in the scene more than 1 day before release, Im gunna grab it to get some early practise before I go pick it up at the store.
Still tho

BUY THIS GAME! Its 200% worth it and u all know it.
Smile

And yes, Im a TW FanBoy so fuck anyone who calls me that Razz Wink

Don't worry, you're not the only TW junkie around here.
Been an addict since Shogun(kensei warriors, god I love Japan), still have it, still playing it, still loving it.
TW is the only franchise I haven't pirated.

lol I added ginger and Hubu to the list. So we can get an Nfohump club going.

@AM

Oh man, buy it so I can kick your cornation street ass you bloody barney! lol Wink

Seriously tho, get it man. Its cheap. only 49.99 CDN (53 something after tax) so it prolly cheaper in the UK. Or order it from a Canadian store online and pay next to nothing.

Me, you and Cox would make a killer team Smile

@Everyone else

Still, good to see ppl gettin on board. I dunno if you need handles for online play but if you do when it comes out, list your handle Smile Or I'll start a new thread in the Void for E:TW handles.
Cuz i wanna get an NFO club going and we can dominate everyone! Very Happy

i'm way more worried about gameplay balance than bugs
bugs will always get fixed but i will have to wait six months or a year for a fanmade mod to scrub out the balance issues
i eventually bought rome, but not before it got ironed out by the 'total realism' crew
medieval2 didn't have nearly as many issues, but still had retarded bullshit like inquisitors in it (and was more boring as a game for some odd reason)
so no, i won't be buying it until i have played enough to know i'm not buying a broken game
