I used 2 different keys, one on my brother's PC and one on my own.
On my brother PC it worked alright, after he prompted him to update the game version he could play. In my case he always tells me I need to update GTAIV(even though I updated it earlier manually), and it doesn't even update. He closes my game and does nothing.

Any suggestions?

Seems the game benefits from 6GB of RAM and somewhat funnily also benefits from 12GB of RAM, Rockstar definitively future proofed the game but I think they went a bit too far.
(Timings of the RAM units are more important though but it's pretty crazy how much this game demands of the computer.)

EDIT: Another test but for the graphics card.

No. It's pretty crazy how cockstar spent their time saying the game needed a future pc instead of leaving the booze and pron behind and sat on their butts and started optimizing their code.

I have no idea on why the game would run faster with 12gb of ram. I got 6GB ram and gta doesn't even use 2GB of that.

Since when is not optimizing your code equal future proofing? Just to remind you, the consoles have 512MB RAM and it runs much better than much better machines out there. Yes, even with everything on max, it still doesn't look that much better to require 12GB and 8 cores i7 processors.

Too true. I would imagine 12gb is just disguising memory issues that the game has, so that the people testing it dont run into problems as soon as they do on other rigs.

They needed to optimise their game; didn't; made up this future proofing. Nobody cares whether a game looks great in 3 years time, because the NEXT one will be here, or around the corner.

But the problem is, it doesn't look that great at max settings either, especially with the awful shadows making everything look downright awful at certain times of day. No future will fix that.

The crack and the key are mutually exclusive. In game, press the Home button and log in to live. It will ask you for your key.

I signed up multiple new steam clients to get more keys in hopes that those will work with other G4WL keys aswell... used my last one from The Club on GTA4 though, so I basically just store a few for later use if they'll work again in the future.

Edit: Key also worked on Fallout 3... <3

Left 4 dead isn't a LIVE title so it wouldn't work.
(Achievements and such are due to "Steamworks" and similar stuff by Valve, same with the most recent update to UT3.)

Hopefully though MS won't disable the key entirely after the beta although I do doubt it'll work with the full retail version of DoW 2 and it definitively won't work via Steam to "buy" the game.
(Otherwise any LIVE key would purchase any LIVE title such as Fallout 3 for example.)
