So what? It's just people voicing their opinions on the beta. If your's differ, why don't you post a thought out opinion about it instead of whining because most opinions are negative?

Let the rest of the public try the DoW2 beta when it comes in a day or so then make the final call. Its clear the whole game mechanic has been "dumbed down" and there is no more battlefield or epic scale to the combat but rather micro-skirmishes or arena feel. War40k is about epic battles but TableTop play is also small engagements. I dunno.. fanbois will drool over this stuff except if we cannot then edit/mod it to what we want then we'll just migrate to SC2 which is a highly moddable game "out of the box".

This reminds me of the time when Quake 3 came out. Both the casual and hardcore players incessantly complained about the game but it became a very popular multiplayer fps.
Although i doubt that this will happen to DoW2 it is evident that the expectations for this game were just too high. I am not a die hard WH40k or a DoW fan but i found the game to be quite entertaining. It looks and runs great, the matchmaking even though it has some live-realted problems is a huge improvement over DoW, races and heroes are diverse, gameplay is much more accessable now. I have yet to read a specific gameplay-related complaint that doesnt really mean "omg y i can't pwn n00bz with my l33t gook nerd micro and imba build orderzzz"
The lack of mod support and the small number of maps really do bother me. I hope we won't have to buy maps off live marketplace.

At the time of Q3 release CS was the most popular online FPS, many years later CS still is the most popular online FPS. Dunno out of what ass you pulled your facts.

I was hoping DOW2 to be an improvement over DOW1 and COH in the same line- towards a better tactical engagement closer to the table top experience. After seeing some of the videos i began to lose interest... and put it Back to the click feast basket where it will stay unless proved otherwise.
So opinions are very much appreciated.

Why can´t i set some video options to ultra (texture detail and effect fidelity) ? i have a 280gtx :S
