Might be a new trigger as it doesn't happen to me. (Own the game via retail copy.)

Will try to find Razors little "fix" and see what happens. Smile

EDIT: Oh and the cyber cafe is required for some of the missions in the game.

Yeah, but I think I'm past those ones, I'm near the end just mainly playing around to prolong the game at the moment.

But didn't you know? The final mission is settled via Call of Duty. So you need the cafe.

The game was running fine before installing the new patch. but now it wou'nt start. I downloaded the new .02 patch, applied it, reapplied razor crack ( all 3 files ), downloaded xliveless .95b rar file, as per instruction I coppied only xlive.dll to the gam'es directory. Now when I double click either launchgtaiv or gtaiv.exe I see a window with razor picture, then a black screen for a couple of seconds, then nothing happens; the game doesn't start.
What could be the problem? running vista X86 sp1, 181.22 nvidia driver, e6750 @ stock, 8800gts 320mb.

I read that people didn't have any problem running the new patch with the old razor crack.

Edit 1: Huh, If I remove the xlive.dll from the games directory, I get a GTA IV fatal error:WS10

You don't need to reapply razor's crack, since the update doesn't change the loader file.
EDIT: Also i think you CAN'T reapply the crack, since it contains a gtaiv.exe file which probably is causing the problem.

Crack works with 1.02 patch, but Cybers don't. Need a new crack, or solution for this.

Just reinstalled the game in lack of other stuff to play at the mo. I just patched it with 1.01...good enough and it works. Don't see the point to install 1.02 as...

1. PCs in game wont work
2. No real performance increase

Is not this easy to crack? I mean, crackers already know the "trick".

wow. this is quite unprecedented for a company to go out of its way to put in anti-piracy triggers in patches. i wonder how much money they're spending on adding in these triggers. i guess if you're rockstar you can afford it.

so we can expect a new trigger in v1.03 patch? i'm actually interested to see what rockstar is going to think of next (inverted colors? everything red? make the screen flashes which can cause seizures?). i guess their plan is to make it as painful as possible for non-buyers. it looks like someone over at rockstar has a bone to pick with the scene. rockstar vs the scene! Shocked

what happens if i use the original launcher+original paul+original gtaiv.exe

And then i put a "no cd crack" and i mount the first dvd image to daemon tools

will work with patch v2? or the "trigger with the inet cafe" will be there?

I can't understand how people not owning the actual game (or the right to play it) can sign up and complain on the official boards. That's like me stealing a car and then contacting the dealer and asking for help.

Shitty example. Better one: you watch your neighbor's cable TV at your place for free - that's stealing, even thou the cable company or your neighbor doesn't lose the original.

"Copying" describes how you perform stealing. You COPY a game for free = stealing. You DRIVE the car away from a dealer without paying for it = stealing.

Q: John, how did you steal the car?
A: I just hot wired it and drove back home.

Q: John, how did you steal the game?
A: Some release group copied it and then I downloaded the copy of a copy for free.

For those who use cracks just not to get their dvds ripped apart and have a legal cd-key- use the mini image+yasu, works fine.

steal 1. To take (personal property) illegally with the intent to keep it unlawfully. 2. To take (something) by larceny, embezzlement, or false pretenses.

stealing requires deprivation. copyright infringement on the other hand does not. piracy = copyright infringement. complaining on the forums is LOL cause the company is paying money to provide support for a "customer" that never bought the damn game? LOL.

i dunno where cable TV sits on the spectrum, but I think it's closer to breaking a passage stipulated in the license/agreement that's apart of the provider's deal with you.

you idiot, it's stealing 'cos you say so :S comparing material stuff to unmaterial things, so you can also steal a service or so Wink so if someone is explaining stuff to you and you overhear it you are also stealing information from that person ...

what are you doing here if you say this is stealing on this forum. then i inmediately think you are associated somehow with the industry and you're just trolling around with this kind of talk so maybe one feels guilty and buy the game.
