the game's great, i suppose. It looks like it will provide some fun for the hardcore gamers at last. I thought that AoC would do this, but the sooner the release was, the more casual it became.

Not to sound sceptic....but I'm starting to have some bad feelings about this game. They pushed it again from the 22th of jan to the 25th of feb. I some early statment they said the game was practicly finished and the 22th would be the release date, then they changed it in the last minute...
They also stated that on the 22th we would get a free trial, open beta or whatever. Nearly the whole day went without anything happening...then they said they had released the "first beta keys". I didn't get one, but neither did the 10 of my friends who have been with the community nearly from the begining?
There is said to be people playing and leaking, but if you ask, no one actually "knows" anyone that has been in the beta...
Yes, I know there could be reasons with the NDA and all that. And really, I see no reason why they would scam so many people, it's not like they would get money of the preordering...but I getting some wierd vibes now from the project.
If anyone remember Tim and the "knights of the force - mod", I'm getting the same feeling about this one now because it follows nearly the same pattern.
BUT I still have some hopes, and IF they game will be as huge and advanced as they say. It will be a huges leap in the MMORPG genre. I really hope for it to be true too because we would need such a game.
We'll see after the 25th of feb, and I hope and keep my fingers crossed

Oh but they would. There were a few polls recently asking if you'd preorder the game without having tried it, or with nothing more being revealed about the game itself - they were something of a landslide with people voting yes.
A lot of people have built this game up in their heads to be the second coming of christ and they don't believe it could be anything less than perfection - with this kind of blind faith, Aventurine could make a lot of money with even the shittiest alpha product.
Don't get me wrong, I'd really like to the game to live up to the hype, but I can't be anything less than realistic and right now this whole fiasco is looking dodgy as hell.

This that game which was given funds by the Greek government?
If it is, then I doubt they're looking into scamming people because the Greek government knows who they are.

With all the expectations it seem they can't live up too it all. I also, as I said, get a bad feeling about this. Like how it will end up as the biggest scam in the MMORPG genre. But I'll be the first one to crawl to the cross and admit that I'm wrong if this game now will be released on the 25th.

No I didn't play the beta of this game, but I played betas and/or final versions of pretty much every MMO out there to make an educated guess.

the russian testers (from goha.ru) find the game very good, even "fuckin' wonderfull", cause it reminds them of UO. it is not very user(carebear)-friendly and it's its' strength - the mobs are quite good at kicking ass, they provide a challenge, which is unusual in MMOs.

In this case it's quality that matters, not quantity. I'd rather have smaller, unique looking, carefully crafted zones than a huge copy paste environment.

2 Glottis, can't agree with that. AoC has "smaller unique looking zones", but.. i feel a bit claustrophobic there.
