and no1 mentions The Iron Giant?
That's my alltime favourit cartoon (not pixar ofcours)
coz it would be ubercool to have a giant robot as a friend and protector
If it would be Pixar I don't know whether to choose toystory 2 & Monsters Inc as my favourit

WALL-E is the best Pixar film, and that's that. Toy Story 1 & 2, The Incredibles and Finding Nemo are all very good films like, but none of them comes even close to WALL-E.

did you watch the BluRay? Supposed to be amazing in terms of restoration of B&W on new format
Quote: | This Blu-ray release of 'Casablanca' follows a painstaking, grade-A remaster made for a standard def DVD reissue back in 2003, which then got ported over to HD DVD last year. The results were glorious then, and they are glorious now -- this is the way we dream our favorite classics will look when they come to home video. It is also a transfer so superior that even if I could find anything to remotely nitpick about, it would be pretty useless. 'Casablanca' is again presented in 1080p/VC-1 video on Blu-ray, and appropriately pillarboxed to the film's original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.33:1.
The black and white image is wonderful. The source material has been meticulously cleaned up, and good luck finding a speck of dirt, dropouts or inconsistencies in contrast or black levels. The film has a nice, deep and rich look, with excellent smoothness across the entire grayscale. Sharpness is perhaps slightly "soft" by today's standards, but terrific for a film from 1942. I continue to marvel at how deep and detailed this film looks. Fine textures throughout are clearly visible -- I could make out indentations on the spine of a book, or see slight creases in the clean whites of Humphrey Bogart's tuxedo. I am also grateful Warner didn't over-tweak this one -- whites never bloom and at no point is the image overly contrasted in an effort to make the film look "newer" or "glossier." Instead, 'Casablanca' maintains a very natural, film-like look throughout. Without a doubt this is the finest black and white transfer I've seen on high-def, period, and up there with the best remasters ever created for the home theater environment. |

Yes i watched in blu-ray, 720p. I havnt watched in any other format so i cant really hold it up againts anything else in that matter. But i can say that i was first really astonish by how good the quality was, and clean image. Was perfect. Just like that quote you have say. Definetly worth a watch!

Gran Torino - 9/10
Clint is amazing, i'm starting to wonder if he isn't one of the absolute greatest film-makers of all time. He's up there with the greats in my book atleast.

Why, because the russian jews switch between english and russian for no apparent reason?

The locals and the partisans speak a very good russian. The main actors are not russians of course, so they can't speak a good russian.
The creators have made an effort to put russian speakers where they could and the result was satisfying.

The Rocker 5/10
I laughed at Rainn Wilson and I think Emma Stone is hot. The lead singer was completely utter shite, though. Too bad, It could have been better. The fat kid getting a hot chick, boring, the lead singer and bass girl get each other; boring. The fact that the fucked up rainn wilson didn't end up bagging the hot chick; realistic and a good touch. Oh, and Jason Sudeikis was awesome, had some bad ass lines.
Max Payne 3.5/10
Hi, movie. You sucked.
edit: forgot to mention. One single plus: Chris O'Donnel was pretty good.

Waltz With Bashir - 10/10
everyone should see this, especially the final 3 minutes, it is an outrage that those 30 year old footage continues to be a reality today, maybe in different circumstances but due to the same underlying causes.
