While surfing the site http://www.guru3d.com I've noticed they offer for download the newset drivers from NVIDIA. (70.90,71.20). The weird thing is that Nvidia itself does not offer these on their site.
Are these drivers safe to run? or is it better to wait untill they appear on the Nvidia site?
Thanks,
Peace

Guru 3D always has drivers that are not yet officialy released by Nvidia, there for they are Unofficial / Beta Drivers and you use them at your own risk Razz I think some of them are modified by people as well.

Personally I would just stick with the Officially released ones Smile

I've tried a lot of 'unofficial drivers' from sites like guru3d and in most of the cases they work pretty good. Very little problems etc.

Kryon, if you are very eager to get most performance available from your card you should use unstable. If not just use the stable official ones. I've used unstable ATI and NVIDIA drivers and had no problems but I only use Omega unstable on my comp because I'm a bit of a performance freak.

Is it really worth to hassle with beta drivers. I made the experience that drivers these days usually don't offer a performance gain wich is visible. So the only reason for me to go for a beta driver would be a fix for a game, if it won't run properly with the current drivers.

it's good with new drivers I gained another 1000 points in 3d mark 05 after I installed the 66.93 drivers from nvidia. and I had the 62 drivers before or something like that. I used beta drivers some time ago and I have not had any troubles with them, but for now I stay with official.

Oh yes, they all work. I have tried a lot of beta drivers from guru3d as I have been in the forum for som time. I have never seen a driver set that didn't work at all. But maybe I misunderstood you.
