yeah. it's playable, but you'll need the fix for it too.
it's on rshit somewhere.
continue with your previous char, btw. you'll have access to some goodies that way. and play on medium. it's easier than ep1.

but what exactly do you mean by "fix"? the crack or additional files/patches?

you need another file besides the crack, without it you'll get an error at a few points in the game.
you can bypass it the first few times it comes up by quicksaving after you get the error message and then loading the save.
but it's not worth the annoyance, since it overlaps some of the dialogue parts, so get the fix.

no.. i found the links(game+crack were together, fix was separate) on a couple of blogs.
the grp name is theta (they're non scene).

and have you finished the game already?
The last one was around 5 to 6 hours of gameplay i think and very enjoyable. Can we expect about the same out of episode two?

Hey, I have problems using my old character. The game doesn't ask me if I want to use it. Goes straight to create a character. Anyone had a similar problem?

are your saves in this folder: \Documents and Settings\[name]\Local Settings\Application Data\HotheadGames\RainSlickEp1\ ?
