Hey, I need help, the ISO file (3.96Gb) is lying here, mounted properly on a FAT32 partition, but when installing it gets to 64% and then I get a stupid error msg it cannot transfer 'läsmig.txt' (from the support/sv folder) that looks like a readme thats not even in english. The file is copied to HDD with no problem if you do it manually. Anyone has a clue WTF is the problem? :[

The läsmig.txt is a readme in Swedish.. Have you tested to download a new version of the DVD??

I'm not sure what you mean with "New version" I've got the HLM release which is 85 files and everything just as it says in the nfo. By now I've also tried installing on a NTFS partition and I get the same problem. :[ Most of all I've checked the rar files with the sfv file twice!

BattleLan 0.5 http://www.infoceptor.net/files/war3/battlelan.zip
Gamers Internet Tunnel http://www.morpheussoftware.net/git/
Most people for some damn reason can't get both of these to work trying to simulate Internet over LAN in BfmE although the gracious moderator Stooz here was able to accomplish that with a bud of his. Dunno how he got it working while myself and many others have not. I probably should get the main details of Stooz's friends Router and settings kuzz it doesn't make sense how he can connect while many of us cannot. Thank EA again for unbelievably bad netcode AND NO DIRECTIP support. Dicks!

Hey we followed the instructions you posted, then ran battleLAN/BFME in the specific order I posted.
All I can say is make sure all players are running battleLAN, make sure all ports are forwarded correctly, and make SURE you have the DMZ set up properly.
One time we screwed up the DMZ settings and it wouldn't work at all.

Back on topic for just a sec (though the BattleLAN instructions are awesomely helpful), I've been playing both evil sides, Mordor and Isengard (sp) and it's quite easy to win w/ both against a hard army.
Isengard, get two hordes (melee units + ranged units) together, upgrade to fire arrows, and get Lurtz (hero). Attack-move to the enemy's base and viola. 10 minutes, hard army.
Mordor, simply build a ton of orc units (this is where you can easily max out your pop cap since orcs are free) and get a troll w/ a tree out after a little while. A good power to get is the scavenger power, which gives you resources for every kill. Get another troll w/ a tree out, bam, win.
And yes, isengard archer hordes + fire arrows are nasty, very unbalanced, as it only takes a hit or two from an arrow to kill a unit. Get two or more hordes, and you can stomp anything.

Just play against a human opponent, it's competely different.
Anyway, calvalry with shield upgrades trample any unprotected archers.

Just finished downloading this game and playing the first 5 levels. The game I tihnk is great. I put it on difficult and I died at least once on every level. I wish they got all the voices from the movie though...Eomer voice, Legolas and Aragorn are not the same...even though Legolas and Aragorn are good enough. The action is fantastic...how can anyone not like this game? If you loved the movies then you will like this game. I'm definitley buying this game for mplayer.

I also use archers, but trust me the trees, the eagles, Gandalf and Legolas can do the job better hehe.
BTW, I love to push the front with combined spy archers and Paladins with full upgrades. It's sooo cool.

So number them up 1/2/3...and take a gap before sending them after your horsed units.

Hmm.. how can you screw up DMZ? You just ensure yer LAN IP (ie. 192.168.1.100) is your Computer's IP hooked to your Router and just enable DMZ to it. Nevertheless, here is something weird: those steps in my 10point workaround don't work for me - I have to ensure I DO NOT have a second IP (my 70.xxx.xxx.xxx one) as my lower IP. With it not there, and only showing my usual LAN IP, then when I use BattleLan I can connect no probs in the BfmE lobby. Unfortunately, >yep<.. we still get those bloody time outs trying to connect! BAHHHH!!! We've been told to keep continuing to connect and eventually it'll work but we tried multiple upon multiple times to no avail. ARGHHHHH!!! Just don't get it.
I mean, if two direct connects can't connect to one another than shheshshh!

Haha, funny thing actually.
Now my friend and I are getting Connection Timed Out, even after we were working so well.
After 3 or 4 tries my game will half join, and I'll get a cd key in use error.
Usually after about 5 or 6 tries the game lets me in finally.
Wierd, but whoever told you to keep trying wasn't making it up.

Bahh! Someone needs to hack this - pretty damn bad this doesn't work flawlessly. I think now that I can get into the lobby with BattleLan I'll try the more advanced Gamer Internet Tunnel .99b to try our luck. Ack! Thank gawd BfmE is *NOT* DoW - totally prefer DoW.. More possibilities for amazing mods and the War40k universe is beyond rich with content.

BTW, has anyone else modded in sauron yet. He owns, seriously! You can smash the shit out of people just like the last alliance.
The thing is, EA couldn't put in sauron for the battles because he isn't featured in them in the film. But they left him in the editor, for people to easily mod him in. Therefore, no rules are being broken. |
They also have elendil, isildur, elrond, etc.
Bad thing about Sauron though, he doesn't explode when he dies.
