When im doing that Ronin mission on airport where you need to kill that guy who come by plane. After kill ronin lieutenants and see that animation how you run down stairs after those ronin runing guys just see black screen and hear shots.
Just did that mission and it worked just fine, try pressing ESC to skip the small cutscene after dealing with the "lieutenants".
Nearly done with the Ronin missions, game is becoming a bit harder as you also have to defend territory and there's more to do now that I own a few territories.
Also found a bikini in one store near the sea and a helmet in a greek store and had a bit of fun with that.
(Not exactly pretty but I run everything at max but with AA disabled, sorry for the jagged edges and washed out look, certain time of day settings look like that due to the lack of proper lighting, usually early mornings and afternoons.)
As for modding Havok is a physics system, car data is handled by other variables and for that a file unpacker will be needed.
(Can't do much aside from editing the plain text files such as shaders and textures using TexMod yet but hopefully a working unpacker will be created for this game.)
EDIT: Washed out look was due to my mistake when editing the shaders, to remove pixelation properly just remove the "data\shaders\standard\sr2-pixelate_c.fxo_pc" line and leave the rest alone.
am I the only one who thinks it looks much better on consoles than PC ?
on PC it really looks PS2 and runs like SHIT
Is that how it looks on consoles? Because if it is, it the same crap.
yes even on consoles it's shit but compared to pc the graphics:performance ratio is just horrible... for me it looks PS2 and its unplayable with DOF, motion blur & shadows at max

Yes you are the only one it seems. It looks the same on console and PC, except on PC you have slightly worse performance but can play in high res with antialiasing.
Yes, but at least they got all the features "working," lol.
Well, FM, what do you expect? You have a crap PC, crap drivers, crap OS, crap keyboard, crap mouse, crap BIOS, etc and you expect to run a 360 on a very high resolution (720p is sooooo high) and expect a good fps!? Pfft!

yeah man even if I invest my best in a new pc I'll never reach the awesomeness consoles provide even if devs are doing their best to fit these great games into our weak little PC's
Yes, and all the people here are so ungrateful! Not only have they managed to make the game run on our puny PCs, you expect high framerates and as-good or better graphics than the mighty consoles? Shame on all of you!
i have everything at max. why the ...
whine
whine
whine
rockstar/volition sucks.
because of crap like that these have become the most boring threads on the whole site.
why do people NEED shadows at max, when they know it fucks up the performance?
why does everyone expect to run every new game at good fps + everything maxed?
shit like this makes you come off as spoiled kids. go buy a console and leave the pc games arena alone.
Performance-wise, the PC version of Saints Row 2 doesn't hold a candle to the console versions. The framerate is choppy throughout, and the distance at which cars are visible is significantly less than in the console games. High-speed driving is frustratingly difficult when there are lots of vehicles onscreen, especially in time-sensitive missions. And so just the basic act of playing the PC version of Saints Row 2 becomes a chore in itself.

We also weren't pleased with the way that the game's controls were revamped in the transition from console to PC. There's a complete lack of mouse support in menus, requiring you to use Shift and Ctrl keys to navigate the interface in a way we're not sure we've ever seen in a PC game before. Driving using the mouse and keyboard layout is a chore, so you're much better off plugging in an Xbox 360 gamepad. You'll still have to manually remap many of the game's controls, however, as they don't match up one-to-one with those in the console version.
Volition did a great job with Saints Row 2, so it's a shame that the PC gaming segment won't be able to experience the game at it was meant to be played. For now, we can only cross our fingers and hope some patches are coming to address the game's shortcomings, but really, for such a sub-par port, it's hard to hold out much hope.
another game that will have low sells because of piracy!!! ahah
for this i have get it for 360 that is a little better and this pc port is a sh*t and is a waste of time to download the razor "steamrip". if and when a patch will be released on steam anyway it will be no sufficient to improve it not even of a tip
"The PC version was delayed because we wanted to make the highest quality game across all platforms, but it just needed more time.
The game is a port of the console version from an external company, but that doesn't mean the code can just be copied over, and ship it out.
The PC version is still being produced and tested at Volition with support from the design and programming teams as needed.
This is in no way a hands-off external port of the game."
