Yeah, Defense Grid is good for a few hours for free but I wouldn't pay more than 2 euros for it. WC3 is where the best TDs were, are and will be until SC2 is out, not some PS3 game. I can't even count how many sleepless nights I spent playing WC3 TDs, so much variety, so much fun.

I remember playing both Green TD and Blue TD like a mofo 3-4 years ago (when they where popular on battle.net) WC3 live on today like never before because of all these great custom maps; TDs, mauls, Footman wars, DotA, Line defence ++ Very Happy

Blue TD is stand alone and pretty easy to complete Very Happy

Kinda sucks to depend on stupid people on battle.net tho. There is always some idiot that doesn't know how to maze properly.

My stepson . . all he plays is WC3.
I never got into world craft 3 much except for the single player campaign.
He has every game you could mention, including a modded XBOX 360 and all i ever see him on when i go by his room is Warcraft 3.
Makes me think i should go buy the warchest thingie and give it a shot myself.

anyone else having problems with overheating?

got a 4850, plays every new game just fine, but defense grid seems to fuck it up the ass THAT hard, about halfway through levels the fan just roars sky high, temps shoot up to 120°C and shortly after my box shuts down.

btw, someone up for a few TD maps over hamachi?

Mine doesn't overheat but the fan is louder than in ANY other game I've played on this PC.

I always set my fan to 70% manually when I'm playing an intensive game, so I don't have to deal with ATi's "auto" nonsense, which is about as usual as a one-legged man in an ass kicking contest.

yeah finally beat it today , with 1 core left *g*

tactic used :

start mazing from the power core and then the whole left side (build turrets to force them to go the whole left way up) then once you reach bottom left corner, maze them back up direction of power core. Use a lot of temporal towers and also some command towers to counter decoys. A couple missiles (upgraded) in the flight path to counter air. after that its really just a combination of towers that make a difference.

check armorgames and newgrounds.com flash site. they get the best in matter of defense games and turn based rpg games, and new stuff comes in regularly.

this game is really nicely done.

If I create a new Steam account and use the release which needs Steam to be running, is there a risk of having my real account (with all my games on) banned?

Shouldn't be but you don't need to be logged in to play as far as I know.

Yes there is a huge risk. Stick to Steamless release.

Even if I don't log in to any account?

BTW, if I add a pirated game in steam as a non-steam game, is there a risk of getting banned?

The Gold high scores are a bit of a pain in this game. you need them to unlock additional play modes on a level, but sometimes they just seem unrealistic. I've played the 2nd or 3rd level like 15 times and I can't get it. I can get almost... I need 32000, and I constantly get like 31,500, but if I try to modify my style to hold on to resources longer to generate more income or change my towers a bit, its inevitable that a rhino tanks close to the end and then one of the swarms grabs it and plows it through to an escape by passing it from dead body to dead body.

It's so fucking addictive Very Happy

But sometimes it's too hard Sad

EDIT: And yes, I guess it makes full use of the shader pipelines (or something like that lol !) because it heats my system up, too. (nvidia here)
