87,7% of Norwegians got internet, that is a lot - because we got mountains, and small villages spread around. Think it was different some years ago tho.. but now I think everyone that wants internet can have it.

But whats really astonishing is that 90,1% off all dutch people got internet. And there are 16,6 mill people in NL Surprised Its a small country with lots of people so that must be it ^^

Obviously a country that is small in a geographic sense while having a high density rating (people per square mile) have an easier and much cheaper time to connect people compared to a larger country with a lower density rating.

I think there's truth to what Frant is saying. Holland is also a geographical oddity being the epicenter of Europe, has been peering country of choice since forever.

I think Sweden should top the (non-scientific / commercial) bandwidth charts, although I have no means of proving this.

According to the stats on that site Sweden has 1.8 % of users in europe.. Now that just can't be right. Or are all swedish users extremely prolific members of forums and such?

Sweden has a population of 9,2 million.
EU has a population of 499 million.

If you have a basic sense of mathematics, you know that Sweden then represents 1,8% of the population in EU.

Since sweden has a higher than average internet user percentage, our percentage of the total users should be higher than our percentage of the total population. But that wasn't my point. My "point" was that it seems to me, quite subjetively, that there are a lot more swedes on the net than the stats would account for. You'll have a hard time convincing me that it doesn't seem to me that that's the case.. Smile

Actually, now that I think about it, the discrepancy could easily be explained by the percentage of english speakers in a population. A country with a high number of non english speakers would probably not have a huge impact on "english" sites.
