Thanks for that JBeckman but that is what I have been doing, it is what I do about 90% of the time to get a console up but for some reason it isn't working. I'll try swapping out my wireless kboard and see if that changes anything.

Definitely! The game plays pretty great for me .. and the setting is awesome. Really creepy and with some nice gameplay touches.

505 the European publisher for a bunch of 1C (The Russian publisher) titles has revealed the release date for this game and some others, February 20th.

After I see a vision of two men sitting by a fire, I approach it and refill my heat meter. Then what do I do? Nothing happens. The door I came through is boarded, the other door is blocked by the fire, and the stairs are blocked with crates.

US version will also be released sometime this spring as Aspyr has signed a contract with the Russian publisher 1C.
(Unsure what the EU publisher uses for protection but doesn't Aspyr use TAGES?)

Install Notes:
1. Unrar
2. Mount/Burn
3. Install
4. Copy the crack from crack archive.
5. Copy the files from RU archive following this steps: go to
the "\Cryostasis\Data\Textures\Interface\Text\" folder and once
again replace the content in the RU folder(BACKUP ORIGINAL RU
FOLDER JUST INCASE)
6. Copy the files from TEXT archive, EN folder following this
steps: go to "\Cryostasis\Data\Scripts\text\" and replace the
files from the EN folder in zip to RU folder *rename EN to RU*
( BACKUP ORIGINAL RU FOLDER ) don't touch anything else as the
other localizations are missing data (Voices, videos and such.)
7. Mount the image from crack archive provided, and hit Play.
Release Notes:
Installer is in Russian, but you will work your ass and install
the game just fine. After you follow the step 5 and 6 you will
have menus, subtitles and some texture and English.
Dont liek it? Wait for the EN release and puff-puff.
