Alright so first and foremost I need to find a good MB for this setup, and yes there is a price limit. Secondly I would very much appreciate tips on what things to change out for other parts which are better and at the same price or cheaper.

So this is the setup:

DVD-burner/reader: Nec Optiarc DVD-brännare AD-7200S SATA Silver
PSU: Coolermaster 620W Modular Real Power
RAM-Memory: DDR2 1066 2048MB DualChannel Kit 2x1GB (Kingston HyperX SLI)
CPU: Intel E8400 Core2Duo (3.00GHz) 6MB, FSB1333, S775, BOX
GFX: ATI HD4850 1GB PCI-E 2.0 (Asus)
Hard drive: SATA2 750GB 7200RPM 16MB NCQ Seagate Barracuda Retail*
Chassi: LD NET-HIT-A014 Miditower, Black/Red

All of these parts cost : 7264 SEK which is about 652 euros. Now my goal is to make it about 8000 SEK which is 718 euros. It may as well go up to 9000 SEK.

So yeah, i'd like your opinion on tweaking and changing parts on this setup to come out good and at the price i'd like it too.

So yeah, tips please Razz

But remember first and foremost i'll need tips on a MB that fits all of those parts.

Power supply. Get a Corsair or Antec, should keep you on/near budget with a more reliable power source. Besides this looks good.

Oh and just saw the part about mobo. I'd recommend a p45 or x38 chipset, any board by asus or gigabyte should be good.

And also since you mention upping your budget by a bit, I would highly recommend a 4870, you will get a nice lil boost over the 4850 in games for just a small amount. Got my 2nd 4870 for just a lil over 200usd on sale.

Core i7 920 @ 3.8Ghz | 6GB OCZ DDR3 8-8-8-24 @ 1600mhz | eVga x58 Mobo | 2 x eVga GTX 460 SLI | Intel X25-M + 3x Seagate + WD Black = 2.75TB | X-Fi Titanium | PCP&C Silencer 750 | G15 KB | G5 Mouse | G35 Headset | Z-5500 Digital | Samsung T260HD

GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3L

looks decent for me and its only 100$ gigabyte makes solid MB,
it has 6 sata ports, one slot for video card, hardly a con if you dont play on doing SLI

I will be ordering it probably sat/sun depending if i win this CPU from ebay currently sitting at 61$ and still has almost 3 days wrrr

Ok cool, seems like a solid MB.

Do you think I could run my setup + that MB with a 550W corsair PSU?

You should be fine. I have a corsair 620w powering two vid cards and an oc'd dualcore plus 4 hdds. Run stress tests and never run into lockups/bsods. The Great thing about Corsair psu's is that they only give the bare minimum to the rails that are power hungry, ie everything but the 12v. If you compare specs, you will see that psus in the 700-800 range give less too the cpu and vid card than a Corsair in the 500-600 range.

Of course, if you will be adding a second vid card and/or upgrading to quad core in near future, you might want a lil bit more juice. I am probably upgrading mine soon since it is never a good idea to run a psu at max for long.

Alright, so I bought the comp but i've ran into trouble.

When I start the comp the CPU fan doesn't start but all the other extra fans start that are connected to the motherboard. The result of this is that no bios or anything start up, i just get a digital/analog switch on my monitor for 2-3 times then it shuts off.

What seems to be the problem?
