Game silently installs "Protect Disc 1.1" drivers during installation, can be uninstalled pretty easy though (System dir\Program folder\ProtectDisc\Uninstall.exe) and probably not required as the game is cracked. (Patch included as well.)

EDIT: Completed the tutorial missions of the career mode and started the proper missions, game looks quite good and runs great, quite a few options to adjust as well.

Screens: (Everything at highest possible with full AF and 4xAA at 1680x1050 resolution.)

It's a separate setup program that runs with the /s (silent) parameter after the game has installed (The setup program it uses can show details about the setup progress so this is easy to notice.)

The ProtectID setup can be stripped altogether from the disk if you unpack the ISO first before installing it (I did that myself to get rid of old MPlayer codecs and a older DirectX redist but I missed that installer.)

It also copies itself to the temp folder and can probably be removed before it's executed if you're quick enough. (Or if it's copied over early under installation of the game.)

Program itself added two files to the Program Files folder (Setup files, one for the program and one for additional 64-bit systems.)

Running the uninstaller removed the folder entirely and prompted for a reboot. (Service running most likely, SecuROM, SafeDisk, Star-Force and Tages does the same but can now be removed and re-installed without requiring a reboot.)

Unsure where the other files went, windows folder probably.
(Most likely these were uninstalled as well, setup files for the protection itself was like 600 KB or so.)

EDIT: Unpacked the main setup file (Compressed with a variant of 7-zip it seems.) and found the protection setup in it, unpacked that as well (Same compressions) and aside from the setup files it only contains one driver "Dll" file copied to the Windows/SystemXX (XX differs a bit depending on 32 or 64-bit OS)/drivers.

It's deleted when the protection is uninstalled. Smile

Really? Damn, I need to stop using bins***** then start using Grabit's built-in browser instead >_<

Thanks, man!

=Edit=

Installed and had a quick blast on it. DAMN this is fun! Beautiful graphics, running gorgeously with max settings -- but most of all; it's a fun game! Had a blast chasing criminals and smashing their cars off the road Very Happy

Pretty much, yeah. There's a specific game mode for playing open-world and just hunting down criminals - at least, from what I've seen.

Scratch that, just tried to play it.

The patch (included) is supposed to resolve two issues:

Default controls - keyboard only.
Repeated lockups for a minute or two.

Maybe a bad crack but together these issues make it unplayable. Hopefully a mini-image or anoher crack will sort it.

My controller works fine and I don't have any crashes/lockups, so I guess it's just you.

Oh my god, I just had the most epically hilarious moment of any game ever -

First, watch this clip -

And now, the wonders of the German GPS system -
 Spoiler:

There were some bushes where that line goes - I thought that maybe there was one of those rickety wooden bridges behind the bushes - THE GPS lied to me, I was going about 80 MPH Very Happy

I uninstalled the protection and have had no problems with the game.

Installed, ran the patch, copied the two cracked EXE files.
(Ran the config utility and started the game with the "high" exe file for high-settings.)

Man can this game be frustrating. I have to destroy this car so I crash into it flipping it to its roof. I stop and think mission accomplished. Then that car just rests by teleporting itself beyond my horizon and I quickly get five second counter that tells me I'm falling behind. Mission failed and I need to start it right from the beginning.
Next time I get flipped on my roof. Mission failed.
Next time I miss on highway exit point. Mission failed.
Next time I crash into something and tear off my wheel. Mission failed...
Only sure way to stop him to keep constantly crashing into him with average speed so you and he never looses control, but that takes for ever.

It can be a bit frustrating when you smash your opponent off the road in a attempt to disable the car (100% damage) only to have him "teleport" away if he lands in a bad position thus causing you to fail the mission if you get to far behind.

However you can do the same thing, press "R" to reset your car, takes a few seconds to get going again but it'll help if you drive off in the wrong direction and it'll repair your wheels if they're broken, won't do anything to general car damage though.

That reminds me. Add this one to my list:

Next time I reset my car and it points me in wrong direction, before I turn around... mission failed. Very Happy
Still, game is fairly decent.
