What is so far out from that, that it caused you to laugh out loud?
Granted it only has 1100 votes or so. What movie is so well regarded as being very wrong rated at imdb? I bet you can't find 5 movies labelled at 7.8 or higher that are poor.

Actually, I take score ONLY from imdb. And so far, I wasn't disappointed once with it. Usually they are always spot on. IMO.

yeah, but blood diamond was fucking great, one of the best movies ive seen.
so saying fucking terrible is just wrong IMO.

i would say rotten tomatoes is more accurate when judging "serious" movies and imdb better when seeking public opinion, especially with good-stupid-fun films critics always vote down on

gunna give it a watch. I like the story (since its true) so im gunna watch it.
But daniel craig....HORRIBLE accent. I dunno if he does a russian (doesnt sound like it) or polish or german accent, but fuck, he's horrible at accents.
I mean, an uptight brit (yes, he's uptight...just watch any interview he does on say Jay Leno or Jimmy Kimmel....he's got a stick in his ass) trying to do some eastern euro accent? Horrible.
The english suck at doing accents aside from American/Canadian ones.

Anyway he looks like a guy with a stick up his ass...and about the accents - he does the polish/belarussian/russian (Bielski is a polish name, not sure if the character is a polish Jew tho) accent pretty good! But FFS would they just decide if the movie is in russian language or english? That's what sucked in the movie.
The up-sides are decent acting from Craig and Schreiber (the brother - Zus), very nice scenery, nice chick for Craig and decent action scenes (not too many tho).
And yes - the movie is based on a true story, but there is one thing that is rumored to be false - the slaughter of the collaborant village. It's not sure as they did it or the krauts just to discredit the resistance.
Also there is a HUGE up-side of the movie - there was no OH-NO-POOR-JEWS-ARE-BEING-MURDERED theme through the whole fucking movie like it was in other films (Schindler's List, The Pianist too). I know it's true, but FFS gimme a break. I do not need to hear and see that for the 10000000000th time...
I give the movie 7/10 - a good action/drama movie. Not a phenomena, but really decent. Good acting, a true story. |

Well, I dont mind him in some movies. But I HATE him as Bond and in Defiance, he has a horrible accent. Like Ewan Mcgreggor in the Island....terrible. The english arent known for doing accents and foreign languages.
They can do American/Canadian well tho. |

Bond is supposed to be suave and slick and charming but tough and smart at the same time ya know?
Brosnon did an excellent job. He is one of my fav Bonds.
Craig doesnt have the look or anything. No charm, no suave, no nothing.
The only thing he has is sex appeal for women.
Pierce had sex appeal but he appealed to both sides. Women thought he was hot, men thought he was cool and slick and a ladies man ya know?
U know what I wish they would add to Bond movies? Nudity. I dont mean hardcore shit. I mean like when Bond is gunna fuck a chick in a hotel room, they show some tit or ass ya know? Thats always bothered me.
And why dont they? Because Americans are prudes (movie makers and the ppl who rate films...like an R rated film in the US is usually rated 14A in Canada).
Thats why I wish Bond movies were european productions. Cuz then there would be tasteful nudity.
Thats what I LOVE about Europe. Europe isnt prudish at all. There's no problem with tits or ass and there shouldnt be.
Same goes for Canada. After 9pm or 10pm, movies on basic cable chans show tits and ass and any coarse language.
And after 12am on basic cable channels, they show softcore porn on weekends.
Ive been to the US tons and tons of times. Unless you have cable chans, they censor every - from nudity to coarse language (even words like Goddamn and Bitch and ass).
Unless its on ABC, NBC or CBS. Then they get away with bitch or ass.
But they still bleep 'Goddamn'....the US media is turning into pure christian bs.
Since when is Goddamn a bad word?

Craig is the ultimate Bond - i love the guy. The main ingredients of a good Bond IMO are :
- brute force and strength (he is a guy who needs to be tough! He must resist torture FFS! How a guy like Dalton or Brosnan could do that if they are such pussies? I mean, come on! The guy knows some secrets and is taught how not to disclose them but just look at Brosnan and Craig. I recall Brosnan being tortured with usage of scorpions and i thought it was rather funny cause i wouldn't bet a buck on him. Also 007 needs to punch some fucking faces and kick some terrorist asses too. Craig has an instant flawless win in this category.
- SOME charm - for full charm Brosnan would be much better but IMO Bond's main weapon shouldn't be his looks. Therefore i once more say Craig FTW. He has got good looks, but he doesn't actually use it like previous 007 incarnations.
- intelligence - well, here is a problem for Craig actually. That's because he doesn't look like an ultra-wise guy. He doesn't look retarded, but he's more an action guy. And i think 00-agent MI6 agent is different from a special-service regular thug because of his smarts and license to kill. Craig isn't bad here but, Connery looked smarter. Maybe because he wasn't such a big guy 
- usage of gadgets - well that's not easy. I liked previous 007 agent adventures being cheesy in terms of gadgets but i don't miss it. It was a nice touch but it was to make the movie more funny (i guess). I miss Q but as a character (RIP!), not as the gadget-maker and tester. So the verdict is - i like the fact that the 007 movies have grown up. The dark, gritty movies fashion is something i really enjoy lately so maybe that's why i like Craig as Bond.
In this category Craig is slightly higher than the competition.
- girls - that's also a tough one. I didn't really like all the "sex" scenes, banging babes in hotels etc. I don't like the fact that the producers and directors can't decide whether to make those scenes hot or totally "tit-less". Anyway there is no win in this category. As for the girls in the "Craig as 007" movies - in Casino Royale both babes were superhot as for me. The first one (can't remember the name...dammit) was very nice and the second one had a natural "prettiness" in her. As for QoS - Kournikova was hot but the other one not really :/
So there it is. Daniel Craig is the only 007 actor who could really be a tough agent. And that's my humble opinion.

QoS had too little drama, i agree. But the action was top notch therefore i enjoyed the movie.

As for ratings and censorships...that's fucking nothing. When you live in a conservative country like Poland it can only be worse...i still can't believe Californication is actually airing (late at night but it's a fact)!
EDIT : one more thing about 007 movies. Actors before Craig were unbelieveably tough SOB's in terms of feelings (well...except that Lazenby movie). I really liked the emotions that you can feel in the air while watching Casino Royale and some scenes in QoS (when we hear something about his girl being avenged, the ending etc.). The guy is a fucking human and he can't be like that forever. Well i could go with the fact that it was (in the older 007 movies) that there was this one girl but she died PERIOD. No emotions, just a fact (once more - except the terrible Lazenby movie).
I think that's one of the things that made Casino Royale successful (at least in my eyes).
