Has anyone managed to get this so-called "Clone" working? The NFO, as per usual with Cockyon releases, is entirely unhelpful and I've mounted the image in vIDE under DTProAdv 4.30.0303 (no SCSI drives enabled and with the vIDE drive set to be the first optical drive) -- and the game STILL won't launch.

It just says "Please insert the correct DVD-ROM"

I've even tried it in the newest DT Lite .. same.

Is this a WORKING clone, or is just another bullshit release from Procyon? Sad

Safedisc. Smile

Well that probably doesn't say much but this latest version of Safedisc is also detecting and blacklisting Daemon Tools so you'd need a utility to work around that.

http://forum.daemon-tools.cc/f18/cannot-locate-correct-dvd-rom-message-22649/

There's a Russian utility called DTE which does just this (It's similar to YASU) but I've only found it in the Daemon Tools customer section and it's a early version that has problems with Vista and 64-bit OS's.
(It works but it doesn't properly "cloak" the virtual drive from being detected.)

So if it's only been found in the customer section, does that mean you have to buy it? Or could someone host it online?

I just spent the last 20mins searching Google for it .. and the only mentions I can find, are in the copybase forum for Call of Duty 5. Sad

I sent you a PM after my reply above with some better instructions about the utility and a download link as it's not a official tool like YASU is, didn't you receive that message? Smile

Nope, mate. It said "no new messages" - but I'll check again. Thanks!

There, done.

I hope it works for you and for those wondering I can't provide a public link as it's a very early version, probably available via google or similar search engines with a bit of work but won't be easy to find as it's Russian.
(Language differences will probably make it very difficult to find actually.)

Not really needed though as there's not many Safedisc clones.
(YASU is a bit more effective as most games use SecuROM, available freely via GCW/GBW last I checked and seems to be the latest 1.5 version.)

*bounces up and down and waits for the PM*

I really hope this works! The game is awesome, but it suffers from horrific stuttering which was, apparently, fixed in the latest patch. Thing is, the patch hasn't been cracked yet >_>

On that note the stuttering isn't properly fixed in 1.1 from what I've read, in fact there's a ton of reports about errors with the patch (Official forums) but it might come from the earlier version which was pulled due to issues, sorry for the bad news and I hope it works.
(Can't check myself as since you say 1.1 was never cracked and downloading the clone release would be a bit overkill, especially if the patch adds other problems.)

At first I thought it was just my comp (seem to be having trouble lately, starting with GTA4 and now with all the shaders going walkies in Riddick) -- but after looking around, it seems the stuttering is a known issue Sad

I originally downloaded the Reloaded release, but then deleted it for the Clone download instead.

(PM still hasn't come through mate, which is bloody weird! I've also got two PMs that *I* sent still in the Outbox, rather than Sentbox. Grrr.)

I'll delete this post pretty quick (so I don't get spammed >_>) but since the PM system seems a little iffy tonight ... could I possibly trouble you to email me the info/link? (Done and removed)

You seriously are a legend, thank you so much!!

=Edit=

Gonna try the patch, I'll let you know if it fixes the issues - and whether or not it adds more. I really DID enjoy the game, despite the issues, and I was gonna give up and get the 360 one instead -- but then I read the 360 version has issues too Rolling Eyes

=Edit=

Patch works AWESOME! Stuttering has almost completely gone now, framerate dips sometimes from high 50s to high 20s, but it doesn't stutter!

You're a GOD on this forum, sir! You spend so much of your time just helping others... thank you!

Haha thanks, I try to help if I can. Smile

And yes the game was pretty good aside from the small stutter problems, hopefully the patch was fixed since it was pulled and re-released and you won't encounter any odd problems later in the game.

Haven't played much lately but I discovered that Texmod works perfectly in the game so here's a small bonus, meant as a joke and just a quick re-color of the default in case that wasn't obvious.
(Marvell will hate me for this though.)
