I just got a DS for Xmas and I plan to get myself a linker. I already reduced the possible options to these 3. Now I need your advice...

I have chosen to avoid R4 because:
- Low homebrew compatibility
- Lacking download play support
And the website from where I plan to DL backups is just showing on the frontpage a message that says "stay away from R4, it's too old now" (more or less)...
Anyways, thanks for sharing experience (so quickly)...

I chose M3 Real DS because of the realt-time saving and other stuff, No problems with compatibility or anything.

Wow. Talk about limited options, bud :-\ Are those the only ones you can get ahold of..?
I'm with VR and Lutzi-fan on this. Avoid R4 like the plague, not only for the reasons given - but also because the device is now obsolete and is no longer supported/upgraded. The developers (incidentally, the same devs behind the GLORIOUS M3-Real) released one final firmware upgrade back in April -- and an SDHC hardware upgrade to support the larger, faster, 4GB++ cards a while back.
Go for either the CycloDS or the M3-Real. Both have on-the-fly DLDI patching for troublesome games, both have 99.9999999% compatibility with EVERY NDS title, both have supreme homebrew support and both support real-time savestates and download/WiFi play.
I, personally, prefer the M3-Real because the bundle I got came with the GBA Addon cart, for loading of .GBA ROMS.

Yup, my vote goes to M3 DS Real aswell, get it with the GBA adapter so you can play all the gba games aswell!
