I love cyborgs and shit, so I started with the Temple Guardian (awesome character, both melee AND ranged fighter -- and his Flamethrower attack is sweet!)

Kinda both, you can use you're sp characters in online games games you host you're self, server side games you need a new character.

its just like diablo - you can play SP or MP
also can play SP chat in open net mode
on open/closed net there is a list of servers where you can join and play with other players

Will starting with the new 2.34 loader and continuing the save when my copy arrives have any negative effects? Will the CP triggers be remembered when I do a clean install later and continue the save?

I honestly don't know. What I do know is that the CP triggers aren't really triggers, per-sè, but a reminder that the "trial" usage of the game is up - and if you want the full experience, you have to buy a license.
It seems you can play the game quite well by using a "trial license" -- and that's what the loader effectively does; it emulates the trial license and then, supposedly, bypasses the limitations imposed by the game.
Bottom line? I HIGHLY doubt you would get any negative effects on a character created in this manner.

You need 5 points in a primary skill to unlock the secondary skill. And +items don't count.

GAH!!!
First quest in over 45 .. that I FAILED because the useless moronic NPC ran straight into a troop of Kobalds. KOBALDS FFS! They don't even register as enemies in my eyes and they slaughtered this moron. Grrr.
Alt-F4 and hope the game didn't save AFTER he died.

Some NPC's are a bit over-aggressive when you try to escort them, best way is to just sprint like crazy and hope he/she survives. (Will teleport near you once you get far enough away, usually helps them survive as it'll cancel their current fights.)
But atleast you didn't fail a quest because your character didn't want to complete it like I encountered during one mission to help a dying hermit, played the shadow campaign and after bringing the hermits gold to the healer NPC and got my reward from that NPC due to me being generous my Shadow Warrior character promptly cancels the quest because he doesn't care about the hermit. (Even mentioned in the quest log. )
Certain choices will also fail other quests so be prepared for that.
(Quests with multiple outcomes depending on whom you choose to aid or two different quests regarding the same "object" but with conflicting views on what to do, usually results in one of them failing as you complete the other one.)
Anyone found a

Desert Eagle

Yet by the way, it's referenced in the equipment script file which I searched after I found the models for it (Seems to be a proper unique item like those orange quality ones.) would be nice to have but I've no idea where to obtain one.
(Got a laser sword earlier as well, already mentioned that one though.)
EDIT: You can choose any skill you want but there's two rows, secondary row is unlocked after putting enough points into primary row skills.
(Differs for each class and certain classes doesn't have certain skills, haggle isn't available to the shadow warrior for example.)

Am I supposed to get the "License Information" screen when using the loader or does it not work with Vista x64? Maybe I should just be patient and wait for my copy to arrive.
An error window pops up saying "program window not found, incorrect program version". Too bad.

Yes, you are. Just click "Start Game"
(if you can't use the deletesecurom.exe file, just delete the following key manually;
"HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SecuROM"
That's all the deletesecurom.exe file does. Delete that key and then you'll be able to click "Start Game"

Original files?
The patch itself is a bit over 200MB and patches several of the zip archives that the game uses alongside the .DLL, .EXE and general script files, around (And probably a bit over.) a gigabyte or so of data all in all.
EDIT: That said if you just want the EXE files and some of the scripts that wouldn't be more than a few MB at most so that's possible to upload.

I've been playing for two hours, the patches seem to have helped alot. It's stable, runs very smooth and I haven't seen any broken quests yet.
Is it possible to delete completed quest from the logbook?

Uk version
Made 2.34 version work by un-installing the game, then install it again.
Then use thees patches:
Sacred2-UK-2_10_0_0.exe
Sacred2-UK-2_10_0_0-2_12_0_0.exe
Sacred2-UK-2_31_0_0.exe
Sacred2-UK-2_31_0_0-2_34_0_0.exe
All working fine now. Did not do any restarts of my computer and was playing games and watched movies while it was installing.

All of you are getting me all jazzed up to play this! I have been playing nothing but L4D for the past couple of weeks. I am now starting to think about an action rpg. Thanks for all the tips. I am installing now and following Karmeck's patch order. Hope to create a new character and get lost in this game. Bending towards the Seraphim. Shadow Warrior looks incredible as well.
