i can't get X3TC working more. reinstalled the last DTP by darkcoder but seem died and that was the last hope for this game. have tried everything. i have removed the host line but get always error during the installation

If you get an error during installation then it's nothing to do with DTP. It might be a corrupted download.

no it's an error of connection failed when i go to validate them with the key provided by darkcoder. for me removing the host line don't solve this

Wait, you mean you get an error during installation of DTP? Oh. I thought you meant the game.
Sorry, can't help you bud. The DTP I've got had specific instructions for how to install it (required signing up for an account on DTPs homepage, downloading the trial, then installing the cracked one over the top)

Since i patched the game i cannot get past the protection anymore. i have DTP installed with no problems but i am unable to start the game.
Do you have to use the cpu throttle in order to get past the protection? i only installed the very first patch and never got around to patch 1.3 as i gave up!!
I have a Athlon 64 X2 and was unable to find a throttler that worked with my cpu.
So the game worked from a fresh install but when i patched it, it fails at the protection...

Use CPU throttling to get past the initial protection check .. but don't expect the game to run perfectly forever. The thing about SolidShield/TAGES is that has a million and one "triggers" that can be tripped randomly. You could play for 4hrs and suddenly your ship explodes, or the economy crashes and every item in the game becomes 1cr or even 1,000,000,000cr.
X2 and X3 both had the same protection.

This is the problem, i can't find a program that supports my cpu!! athlon dual core 64 x2 6000+
I don't mind buying the game, and this is not an excuse but i'm unsure if it will hold my interest, and that is why i wanted to give it a few hours play to see if i got into it!

Rightmark CPU Clock.
Supports all CPUs, bud. Just load it, go to the "Advanced CPU Features" tab, click "Throttling" and set the throttle options to 25% forced. Load the game, alt-tab out and then disable throttling.

Just use the latest DT Lite 4.30.2

actually i just found out...that is the version i have already.

Ok, slightly off topic but not off topic... what does the ProAdv version of DT4 have over DT Lite? I can live without the burning/ripping of ISO images and it seems vIDE works in DT Lite too -- so is it worth removing my DT4.3.0303 and installing the free Lite 4.3.1 instead?

As of now DT Pro has nothing over DT Lite. DT Lite works even better than DT Pro now, with DT Pro I had to "beg" games to start, it was 50/50% if clone will work or not. Now with the latest DT Lite all clones work every time. For securom clones you still need YASU but now all clones work great.

As far as I know you can't create and ide drive with dt lite only scsi.

Actually, you can simply change the reg entry from SCSI to IDE and it's meant to work. At least, that's what I've heard ... I'm trying to remember where from so I can get a direct quote. It was a game NFO, I just can't remember which

I've not tried DT Lite yet, gonna uninstall DT Pro first just to make sure there's no conflicts.

I mounted the MI with DTPro4.3 with the vIDE drive and I didn't even need YASU. *chuckles* I guess they both do the same thing then.
