Strange. Mine always gives me an error whenever Im not connected to LIVE and I try to play an AVI file from a flash drive. But the old dashboard never gave me errors when I was offline.

So with the new update you can connect an external HDD to the 360 and watch xvid/divX movies? That sounds too great :\

Not only that but you need to be connected to LIVE every time you want to play a movie. Thats the case with my console.

That was the case for me before the update also, but after i updated and installed the new codecs, i can watch my movies either connected or disconnected to LIVE...

I use Tversity to stream to my xbox

It's true bud Smile

I use my 8GB usb drive for watching XVIDs because I can't be arsed setting up streaming, heh.

Before the update, the only thing you could use externals for was music and pictures.

Well.. the downside being, you'll need to be online in order to get the Codec Update after you install NXE. If you're banned, you won't be able to get that update Sad

I also never needed Live after the initial codec downloads. I've always been able to play Xvid movies. No subtitle support is a bitch though.

.... Strange. I couldn't play XviD movies off external drives before the NXE update, and Microsoft say you couldn't either. Only WMV files would play when run off externals, AVIs wouldn't even show up - just music and pictures.

As for the codec, you don't have to be online to watch movies -- but you DO have to be online to GET the codec Razz

Awesome! Nice find, bud! The "official" download doesn't come with the DivX/XviD addon so you have to be connected to download it .. at least with that one there, you won't!

(well, now you just need to hook the 360 drive to your PC Razz)

Ah I misunderstood the posts then. I thought you guys had to be connected to Live all the time when playing Xvid.

You need to connect your 360 HDD to your PC. Not sure how, I just know you need some cable.

Open the HDD casing, remove the hard drive, connect to PC with a standard SATA connector, simple Smile

NXE works flawlessly for me ^_^

I love it! Clean, simple interface and the fantabulous "install to HDD" feature. Perfecto!

Nobody knows .. and I doubt we'll find out now until next November.

the question here is : does every single copy of one example:GOW2 have a different SS code , like a serial , that they ban if i don't know 100 hits with the same serial will be spotted ?

in the older days they banned for the 359 angle but now ?

the only thing they can check now its the Media type/region/maker/SS/release date
