No, I played the game to around 60% on 360 and quit, every mission is the same.

I heard in the GiantBomb podcast that disabling the video editor helps the performance. Is that true?

Game is pretty much unplayable on my comp, unless I set everything to low settings. Resolution changes don't impact FPS in the slightest, but view-distance is an absolute killer. Even when the framerate hits 30, it's still not smooth and the game constantly hitches and grinds. Leaving the game on "autodetect" sets the res to 1280x1024 (my max, gah) Med Textures, High Filtering and the sliders all on about 30% -- and it's unplayable.

Piss-poor port from a company famed for piss-poor ports.

I'll just keep playing the 360 one. Wait, no I won't.. I prefer Saint's Row 2. Wink

I get (on autoconfig settings) between 15 and 30. With a bit of tweaking, I can get it up to 35 (50+ on the highways, not facing into the city) but it's no smooth enough to be playable. Not for me at least.

Game is massively dependant on QuadCore procs to get a decent, sustained, framerate with settings that don't look like a badly-done PS2 game.

You can find it in the ingame options menu. I forget exactly what tab it's under, but you can disable the Replay Recorder there.

Not anymore. Least, not EASILY anymore. Now you have to email Sega and show proof of purchase.

It's a miniscule performance boost, if anything. 1-4fps at best.

Read on other forums that people got a 10 fps improvement from turning it off. And an other 10 for disabling vsync

I disabled vblank and gained a bit of performance, but not much. Disabling the ingame recorder didn't give any noticable benefits.

Yup. Cards with only 512MB of VRAM are in for a very painful gaming experience (and since neither SLi nor CrossFire are implemented properly, a 9800GX2-1GB or a 4870X2-1GB will only register as 512MB single cards)

Basically, from what I've seen in my own experiences - and what I've seen from OTHER peoples experiences, to play the game adequately and without it looking like a piece of shit PS2 port, you need a decently-clocked Quad and a 1GB GPU.

Are you running the latest nVidia drivers? there's a graphics issue with the 79xx series - but I'll bet that it also applies to series BELOW the 79xx.
