Lunabel,i think there is no solution yet for this error.try running -norestrictions from commandline and not from shortcut.many with xp reporting the same error.i haven't yet encounter any problem myself.you can also try a registry cleaner or turn off tasks from task manager and antivirus programs.seems like a compatibility problem or a conflict.kalh tyxh!
Edit:Update Visual C+ + also.

don't work with the "the club" key or a valid live key of another game? it should work
i have halo 2 original and i get it work online with my legit halo 2 key

It's working fine. Disconnected from the game error is not key related.

the game want me to do a activation before it let me to play and I think I read somewhere that I could type in whatever I want but it wont let me to continue .. it say it is terminated..should I reinstall the game or what? I tried the ofline method without success

You don't need to activate. Just download Fed0r or Razor1911 crack and play.

a question about ati drivers
Haven't had to update my ati drivers yet (new comp, always had nvidea cards)
So, I go to device manager, uninstall the card, and run driver sweeper in safe mode.
But what about the catalyst control center? Does it get uninstalled to? Or do I download only drivers from ati site and keep this ccc????
Dumb question I know, but wanna know this for sure

The ATI uninstaller should remove most traces of the previous drivers but the installer is also pretty intelligent and will remove those when updating to a new version so it's not a requirement to totally clean out old drivers albeit if done correctly there's no downside to being careful.
(Certain tools can damage registry entries if used incorrectly.)

OK me again.. I did got it started yesterday but reinstalled the game because it crashed when I was outside the house where I met the cousin and I found a car that was locked is it possible to unlock the cars?

Ok so I have two unused steam versions of GTA IV. Some deal went through and I've no use for them.
These both were the special pre-order deals so those who bought the game got a free copy of GTA Vice City as well.
So if anyone wants GTA IV for 50USD with a free copy of vice city attached to both copies, let me know (depending on user, not selling to those I don't know.)

Correct, assuming there are any nearby, alarm will also be disabled after a while and you can speed up the "hotwiring" process by pressing certain keys. (Explained better in the game.)

Got the bloom disabled alright, didn't see a huge improvement in performance but it definitely looks better for it.

I posted a bit about them in the Catalyst 8.12 thread.
Basically they're the official version of the previous RC3 beta drivers with no major changes (Same version number even.) so don't expect any major improvements if you've already used those.

i havent payed this game yet, the way i see it after reading lots of posts and forums is that R * did not optimized this game. PC's can handle anything u throw with a right port or right coding but, seriously, a heavy rig cant? i'm a big fan of gta and im sad this one has tons of bugs. Customize headaches, errors popping like the one mentioned (not by a small group like R * says "fatal error zlib20"), this aint just another DRM game it pushes it further with clubs and then what?
So please let me know if u all having this zlib20 error cause i aint buying a game that is not optimized at all. shame for its multiplayer would've been a ride.
