does anyone else think this game sounds scratchy on 5.1? Got a sound audigy zs2 platnium and G51 speakers. Sounds the same on the barracuda HP's too

Versus locked to normal? Damn, that sucks. I prefered it at Advanced.
They should have just made it possible to set the difficulty and allow people to search for different versus difficulty servers instead of just locking it at normal. Pretty lame :/

Left 4 Dead Update Released
December 5, 2008, 5:58 pm - Jason Ruymen - Product Update
Updates to Left 4 Dead have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The specific changes include:
Left 4 Dead
* Fixed Infected Players melee pushing large objects to block the survivors path
* Fixed +lobby exploit
* Fixed exploit of "hugging" the Witch from behind where she can't hit you
* Fixed players not being kicked from a vote by changing their name before it succeeds
* Disabled difficulty change votes from the console in versus mode

unless someone were to release a new version or something maybe then I guess maybe, I really don't know how hacked steam games work.
But ya, it seems every 3-4 days they release another patch fixing stuff.
The only thing that pisses me off right now is the fact they locked VS to normal making it almost impossible for infected to win. |

It's still possible for infected to win, as long as everyone uses teamwork and knows how to play their class. Tank + boomer combo = almost instant win.

i have bought this great game and the next will be empire total war and hope soon that good mods will be out for this just like half life 2 and then new maps and others stuff like TF2 will be enough funny. many are on the way

I bought the retail version. Does it work witht the cracked version over LAN and is there any tut on how to do it?
On similiar matters, Iread something about multiple licenses. Every licence goes for the full pice of the game though or isn't it so?

Not sure if I understand your second question right, but you can buy 4 games for the price of 3.

no the retail work a lot different from the extracted "cracked" versions. the retail is only steam digital download, non-steam only pirated versions. on steam u get your own LAN, internet and dedicated servers with full steam functionality (VAC 1 and 2, steamworks, steamcloud, source engine, achievements, statistics etc etc) and no need shitty consolle commands and hamachi to play

Spectacular game, one of my favourites! I've not bothered with the NoSteam version yet, as I have the 360 one - and even in spite of the clunky controls via the pad, the game is amazing! I was expecting a cheap, mod-like, mess .. but I was pleasantly surprised with how engrossing and atmospheric the game is.
... playing as the Infected is so much better than a survivor though. It's immensely satisfying to watch one of the survivors get seperated from his mates, then hunting him down and ripping him to shreds. (n00bs, so much fun!  )
Oh and I see Boundle is still working for Valve. Incidently, how much are they paying you, dude?
