Someone at russian forum has posted that graphics sliders are working with current loader.

Как ты игру запускаешь?

Запускаешь LauncherGTA -norestriction? Или как?

Да

You can set any parameter in the game, it says ''value too high", press 'apply' anyway.

Btw, there are two versions of FeD0R' loader - v1 and v2. Apparently, the graphic settings working properly with 'v2', file size: 28160 bytes, MD5: B4F4A2841F0857AAF18232724762CC52

Create a text file called commandline.txt in your main GTA4 directory, then put the commands you want in there, all in one line. with the leading dash. For example -norestrictions -novblank
Save, start game with the loader, enjoy.

Now the question is... is there any detailed guide to the settings that tell exatcly how they impact on visuals/performance??

For example, should I put "-noprecache" or not? What does it do?

Only tryed the shadow value tho.

Just did the commandline file for norestrictions. Worked like a charm. I pumped everything (except number of cars) to max. High textures, highest rendering, max details and shadows. Using 1500MB out of 500MB ROFL.

Ran very well though. Totally playable. I'd say it's smoother than it was on default with the old cracks and all the bloatware.

Oh, I also updated to 180.60 nvidia drivers, so that may be it too.

You shouldn't run the game with gfx settings exceeding your computer resource limit, you'll have huge popins and just weird stuff happening. Highly not recommended. A limit is there for a reason.

It's not that bad as such but the game will eventually crash with a RSRC10 error (Out of video memory) if you exceed what the resource monitor recommends, can usually play for quite a while before that happens though.
(Still it's pretty interesting that the game can use over 1400 MB of video RAM.)
