I liked the game despite being repetitive on most of the occasions.
But provided the enemies' respawning i was in a hurry to finish it. And really hated the fact when you passed by a guard post the whole bunch of idiots guarding it loaded themselves in a car which had a mounted weapon on it and started chasing me. By the end of the game (over 75-80% completion) i had myself in a situation when two cars were after me. As if the one extra car respawned near a location close to me.
About the game's ending - disappointing and rushed along with Clear Sky's which i beat some days ago.

It started slow, but it was quite good later. Ubi should have release proper modding tools, though.

There is a +11 trainer for 1.01 version so just use invincibility and ignore respawning enemies. When starting mission just toggle invincibility off and problem solved.

The patch contains two EXE files if you unpack it, one for the retail edition (Disc check + online activation) and one for the download edition (Just online activation.)
I believe I posted it a few pages back.

JBeckman, thank you, but that's not what I meant.
Just to make it clear, I have a retail copy of the game installed (genuine) + patch v1.01 applied. All I want is to play without the disk inside the DVD-ROM. Is it possible ?
elcomo, you don't find/buy/upgrade to monocular. It is in your "inventory" by default. You can use it by right mouse clicking with the map active.

But that's what I said wasn't it?
Use the download edition EXE file and you'll go from disck-check/activation to just a activation based protection, no disc required, did that myself and there's been no problems with it, backed up the old EXE just in case, might be useful for the 1.02 patch once it's released next week.

Lets just do it the easy way, it's pretty complicated otherwise.
http://www.sendspace.com/file/jh7nvl
(You'll need to start the patch and check the temp folder for the actual .CAB file used by the InstallShield manager, use a tool to unpack the files in that and then grab the EXE)
And no this isn't a crack or anything like that as the protection is still active and you need to activate (Or have a existing activation.) via a legit serial or you can't use it at all, this merely removes the extra disc check.

Works like a charm. Perfect. That's all I wanted. And if I understood right no activation lost (-1) or something similar.
Thank you again, sir!

It seems the more saves I do, the longer it takes to save the game. Quick saves save right away, but since this game has a few show-stopping bugs here and there that require you to go back to earlier saves and hope you don't encounter the bug the second time around, I like to save once in a while at a gun shop or safe house.
I'm 65% done. It's now taking about 35 seconds to save. I thought maybe the amount of save files I had were impacting how long it takes to save, so I dumped most of them in another folder...made no difference.
Is anybody else encountering this?

fc2 save games can take up A LOT of space, i remember seeing someone had over a gig in save game files.
My advice is just have 1 quicksave and 1 mainsave.
what i did when i played was quicksave while i played and after completing a mission I would save normally (pressing esc and saving through the menu) then delete all other saves leaving just 2 saves.
maybe try deleting all of them except 2 and defragging your hard drive.

lol once ive finished FO3 (had to restart my game 6 fuckin times because of some bs), gunna get into FC2. Cant wait.
But I like to play only one game at a time. Once I beat one game, I move on to the next. I used to play all my games...like an hour on one, an hour on another etc but i never got anywhere. Rather play one straight through then move on.
Thats why Im starting my FO3 session in 5 mins and gunna play for 7 hours...see how far I can get Big gaming session tonite

Bonus missions, not really useful for most people here as it's part of the four missions you unlock from DLC1 by entering a specific key in the main menu.
(Discussed previously.)

I'm not really sure how I feel about this game, to be honest. Yeah the graphics are stunning (and it runs beautifully on my new kit, maxxed settings too) and the open-world gameplay is impressive .. but *something* about the game keeps putting me off.
I keep going back to playing it, but I get horrendously bored within 30mins. Travelling around the map is a chore, not to mention the respawning of every guard you killed not ten minutes before -- and the map ITSELF is hideous!!! It only ever shows the current area you're in .. which is utterly fucking useless when you're trying to plan a route for returning to previous areas (unless there's some key I've missed that changes the map from area to global view?)
Weapon jam is also another thing that put me off the game -- so I use a trainer. Yeah, that's right, I CHEAT. Why? Because it's im-fucking-probable in real life that every bloody gun you pick up will jam after five shots. Screw that. These are supposed to be armed militia groups -- how the hell can they wage wars with each other when their guns keep jamming?? It'd be more useful to just run up to your enemy and club him with the stock of the gun. >_>
The game is fun, no doubt about it, but the niggly issues keep putting me off.

So I got an awesome new video card today (my sig). Just did some FC2 benchies and couldn't believe the results. Here they are:
DX9 1680x1050 4xAA 8xAF Ulra high settings avg FPS: 30
DX10 1680x1050 4xAA 8xAF Ulra high settings avg FPS: 45
Wow, just wow. It would suck if I was a brainwashed Vista/DX10 hater right about now.

*snickers* Death to Vista haters!
At 1280x1024, Ultra High Settings, 2xAA in DX10 .. I get an average 42.
=Edit=
Sorry, that was Very High. My mistake. Running U.High now.
=Edit=
* Average Framerate: 43.14
* Max. Framerate: 64.14
* Min. Framerate: 34.52
That's 1280x1024, 2xAA, 16xAF, all settings Ultra.
Gonna re-run the V.High one, because avg of 42 with LOWER settings? Uhh, no.
=Edit=
* Average Framerate: 52.88
* Max. Framerate: 80.02
* Min. Framerate: 37.63
Very not bad! 1280x1024, 2xAA, 16xAF, all settings V.High.
Regardless of the nice framerate with Ultra settings, I get microstuttering sometimes.. I don't think 512MB of VRAM is enough for those textures. I'd rather play on V.High as it's as smooth as a baby's ass covered in butter.

Sabin, with a 4850, 1280x1024 is a pretty low resolution. Is that the max your monitor can do?
BTW, I get the same framerate results on 1920x1200 with a little better card
