How do you bypass the activation when running from the launcher?
NM, figured it out. Need a fresh paul.dll.

Seems I don't get the wobbly cam when using LaunchGTAIV.exe instead of GTAIV.exe (still using the crack that came out earlier this evening), maybe a random coincidence *shrug*
Anyway, despite the poor optimization the game is very much playable for me and it's pretty darn good so far, I have to say.

I'm fairly certain that the extra time Rockstar took with the PC port did NOT go into the porting itself but rather into the fade-like protection scheme. They deserve being ripped off, anyone paying for the game is basically being ripped off.

I got a question guys :
if i put a legit key and use only the LaunchGtaIV cracked exe ? should i play online like a legit version and witout shaking etc ? ('coz i'll got my retail dvd tomorow but i ve got key)

but if u are not connected u can save with your offline live profile? and then there a damn possibility to get it work online lan only without buy the game or is need anyway to register to rockstar social club?

I tried two of mine and both didn't work. Sadly it seems that we are stuck with keys that will only work for the older games.
Anyways I'm just going to wait for a proper crack I don't feel the rush to play it.

Renaming that file freaking worked!
Get the cracked Paul.dll, get the no-dvd .exes from that other crack and then rename/delete that file and you can play it just fine. At least I did for the last 30 mins. Hope it holds up!
Running on default settings with my 8800GT, medium textures, high renderin at 1680x1050 and it runs decent. A little hitch here and there but for the most part it's really smooth and looks great. I'll start tweaking later. Pretty fun game but I miss CJ. GROVE 4 LIFE!

Can you explain to us what did? So you renamed the paul.dll and the .exe's?

No. I got the cracked paul.dll from one crack and used the .exes from the X5lover crack. Then I renamed that GTAIVDGF.dll file in the main game directory. Then I played the game and did like 3 missions.

Well, I used my key from The Club, and it worked fine. I used it for Fallout 3 as well. Though, I got tired of dealing with the restrictions on vram and the drunken walking thing, so I uninstalled it. I tired adding the things to the shortcut, but it was to no avail. Restrictions were still in place. I find them rather silly, it said I could only use 468 or something, yet it let me put it to what it claimed was 500. Game ran fine. Oh well, I might reinstall later when a scene crack drops. That and maybe a patch or two from R*

You don't need a LIVE key. I'm using my normal legit profile in offline mode. Still getting achievement notifications ingame too.
I also really like how the control tips change when you go from keyboard to controller. It's really really slick.

btw is it safe to register to GSC of rockstar?
then use it as offline account?
