The end is near for pc gaming...

1. Scene is dying and can't keep up anymore
2. The hardware can't keep up anymore with most new games

So sad Sad

PC Gaming = We take your hardearned money with our games and hardware, and then it's not even enough if you buy the newest hardware around lol

I'm afraid i will buy a console in the near future, i am getting sick and tired of the pc gaming industry!!!!

This is on a
Q9450@ 3.5ghz 4gb DDR3 2000mhz 8-8-7-9, 4870X2x2 CrossfireX.

Post your specs please. And It's insane that ppl that don't even have the game are awestruck about some comments on a forum..."the game runs like shite" "even with a 260GTX it's slow and choppy" FFS!, just wait until the darn thing is out and NV and ATI have released some updated drivers. Got a 360 and ok it runs GTA IV pretty good and all that, but so what...IT WAS WRITTEN FOR IT!

That's pretty interesting results Epsilon seeing your hardware specifications, guess the game (or current ATI drivers?) has some big problems with multi-gpu solutions.
(Two next catalyst drivers should improve performance a bit, Catalyst 8.12 is set to be released on December 10th but I'd guess later titles like GTA IV might not be in for any bigger performance improvements until later drivers - especially seeing as there's rumors about Fallout 3 which was released earlier getting some performance improvements in 8.12 but bigger gains in Catalyst 9.1 from what I've read.)

I just bought it via STEAM. Bad news is STEAM is shitting itself, it keeps looping Downloading 0% and Download Starting over and over and over.....sigh.

Edit: Paused and Resumed it and now I'm getting 2 MB a sec, max line speed Very Happy

Yep, I think we'll see a hotfix from ati though, especially considering how ridiculous the performance is here - and for a title of this magnitude.
I can't actually start the game either, I can only run the benchmark. If I try to start a new game it crashes with "Fatal Error: Resc 10" Razz

Well, the 8.12 drivers are supposed to be performance drivers, so we'll see, maybe they will be a pleasant surprise.

Russian version (warez) seems to run just fine (30+fps easy, some occasional 1sec stuttering) on my outdated pc @1680x1050, high details (c2d e6600, 4gb ddr2, 8800gts640 (original first edition), win xp x86)

poor (or on purpose) Ati optimisation?
