Tonight's episode was one of the best episodes ever out of all 3 seasons.

could have been compressed by a few episodes perhaps, but i never felt bored

I have a theory about what might happen next. If you haven't watched ep.10, don't read:
 Spoiler: | Miguel made the skinner kidnap Dexter so he can save him later. That way Miguel would become a hero and lead people to believe Dexter owes him or something. Oh well, it will probably be something completely different but that's a pretty nice outcome too. I think.

Indeed, slow season. But we see why. A relation of trust has to take its time, especially with a careful dexter. This and latest episodes reminds me how Dexter put the blame on Doakes to get him fired.
This time its not a co worker and it's way harder to catch in fault in front of all eyes.
Dexter has revealed too much and scare tactics don't work with a fanatic.
He could have killed him a bit earlier, it would have saved him the troubles now he faces.
Dexter forgets one thing, his weakness: his famility. that could be leveraged with success ...

A few episodes back when the skinner was leaving the police station and Dex walked by him, he said in his mind "I hope we meet again." Looks like he got what he wished for.
