Is there only one auto save file or several?
Can you explain the save folder in my documents\codemasters\grid ?

don't have the game no more, man.

maybe it would be easier to always mentally substract a hundred mil from your money and not to spend more than that Wink

This sucks.

Apparently the memory address changes everytime the money changes and I can only fiddle with the very basics of memory stuff. Usually 2D games Razz

you're pretty much screwed Very Happy

unless you use a windows restore point, i guess.

System restore won't restore his games profile, system restore only recovers changes made to the OS or programs that were installed and doesn't touch the my documents folder.

Damn, no fix for my framedrop-problem Sad

Recently bought this game but I'm also getting intermittent slowdowns of about half a second. Mostly it's not a problem, except for low weight/high speed cars (prestige races) because, and this is the funny bit, forces seem to be applied continuously for that half a second.

Meaning - five cars in an optimal speed turn, game halts for 0.5s, five cars flipping over on their roof

This is what you got? I spent a lot of time tinkering with it and found a solution. Disabling AI over/under clocking (ASUS motherboard shit).

Edit: Under/over clocking with RMClock does not produce this weirdness.

Do you have a SLI system? I heard SLI have this microstuttering problem. Maybe that's the problem. I have a SLI system, but I don't have any problems with this game, runs great, no lag, nothing.
This what came up when I read your problem, don't if it is the problem, because I also run SLI..

Edit: I also have a ASUS Mobo, but I think I have all that AI stuff disable (not installed).

Nope, don't have SLI. I've also heard it could be caused by securom code + daemon tools installed but hell if I'm gonna uninstall that to see Very Happy Disabling AI overclocking worked, so.

Nicee!!
I have a little problem. I was playing the game with friends@Hamachi for a month now(1.2 patch&crack) and eveything was fine. Last week I wanted to start the game, and there was just a splash screen with GRiD logo at desktop. Nothing else happened!!! I tried reinstall, cleaned registry, everything but I still can't run the game.

I haven't played this game for months, but yesterday I've found some interesting stuff to improve graphics without being kicked in online sessions. I guess many of you already knew about these mods, but here are the results:
 Spoiler:

 Spoiler:

I used the following mods:

- Enhanced Ultra Textures V3: this mod allows you to have higher cars resolution textures but it may affect your framerate if you have a <512MB card;
- Dargo's Mod: it is useful to get rid off yellowness and the excessive amount of bloom;

All the mods have backup files inside, so no worry if you don't like them Wink

There is another great mod, the "Ultra High Mod", which allows you to have more shadows, more particles, better reflections and lod etc., but I didn't try it yet.

Why does every car in this game handle as if it was skating on an ice rink coated with Crisco?
Seriously - worst racer I've ever played. I don't understand all of the glowing reviews. Visually it's impressive but that's it. If real race cars spin in circles while holding down the accelerator like these do then its a wonder anyone manages to finish the race.

Maybe it's just not your kind of game; GRiD is intended to be an arcade racing game (those who are saying that GRiD is a simulation obiouvsly never played GTR2,Grand Prix Legends etc.); but it isn't actually a "pure" arcade like Burnout and co.
Anyway I think that is fun enough to play it mindless, because on PC we haven't many games of the same genre tbh. Wink

It's not simulation, but not an arcade shit either (aka Fuel). It's a semi-simulator and semi arcade, and I think they've hit a pretty good spot, and I hope the new NFS hits it too (or higher, toward simulation, of course). Smile

Burnout and Need for Speed are arcade - this seems like it's an inbred arcade simulator that mixes elements from both genres and fails equally across the spectrum. Too much trial and error and restarting - cars damage and spin-out if you so much as think of fucking up - no fun

Maybe you just suck? The driving mechanics are wonderful in this game. Predictable while still giving the player room for improvement. I think the default setting should be with all the assists off.

I actually play it using the 360 gamepad and it's nearly impossible to spin-out as you say Confused , maybe you should try to accelerate/brake using analogic stuff.

I think Immunity is a keyboard racing noob so obviously he spins out a lot because kb is pathetic for this game and racing games in general. Analog pressure sensitivity is crucial in this game when starting, accelerating, breaking and cornering.

Well then that must be the problem. Then again, people kept telling me how a joystick was crucial for flying - bought a top of the line stick and throttle and they provided nowhere near the control and precision as using the keyboard did. Analog input is way overrated imo.

What did you try it on? HAWX? Laughing On proper sims, it is almost impossible with the 360 controller, let alone with digital. Smile
