Those installation instructions are fucking laughable. I'm surprised they didn't ask for a blood, hair, and semen sample to be mailed for confirmation before you could play.

I have yet to understand how these multimillion dollar developers are so utterly clueless as to their own games. All of this extra, unnecessary garbage they force upon the legitimate end user just makes piracy that much more attractive.

How blind are these people, honestly?

Legit playing in consoles : Put the dvd in.

Piracy playing in consoles : Burn the iso. Put the dvd in.

Legit playing in PC : Follow steps 1 to 40 and pray to Zeus ! (Online registration+input serial for activation+18gb install+signup to R* social club shit, install their application, login to Live ...)

Piracy playing in PC : Install with serial xxxxx-xxx-xxxxx, copy crack over.

Hmmm.

Mini images don't work with this, only crack. Also, hamachi won't work, there's no way this will work in offline-LAN mode. Pirated=no online. Sooo, it's only crack and single player.

In my opinion, when you combine the known bugs, the plethora of unknown bugs that will most likely show up after mass release and the leaps you have to take just to install and run, it sounds bad, very bad.

Imagine in RELOADED added all that useless text...

it would be
1.)DOWNLOAD all rars file containing the game from 1 to 90
2.)Start the winrar application and open the .rar file extention file and hit extract and pick destination
3.)Start Deamon Tools and click virtual drive-mount image and browse to the image file you extracted
4.)Once image is mounted, start the install process
5.) insert CD key when prompted and click next
6.) Follow the on screen directions
7.) The install in complete
8.)Download minimage file
9.)Start Deamon Tools and click virtual drive-mount image and browse to the mini image file you extracted.

and so all until all the steps are done.

Forget nothing, cost of brand new console = 3 full price games. Even Xboxs last longer than the lifespan of 3 games.

Point is that for you to play the game they force you to install bloatware (just so they can brag in next quarters report that their social network is next best thing since youtube Evil or Very Mad ), they force you to register to stupid ms live, then they have you for a criminal and you must register online to play a game and once you have the game installed you can't even install it to any other pc you may own. And in the end you must repeat all the above processes when you upgraded yours pc.

That install description was written to make it possible for even the dumbest PC gamer to install it without fudging the process (which we all know he/she will do anyway since they come up with ingenious ways of fudging things up). It's elaborate on the border of extravagant or even ridiculous.

no in the FAQ about it, you can install it on whatever computer you want, just need to DVD to play it.

you could install it on 40 machines if ya wanted to, just the one with the DVD in it is the one that can play

Actually, you can't just get rid of live being that it uses Windows Live for matchmaking, but the whole Social Club BS doesn't make any sense at all, why did they even have to make it a seperate program?

Surely they could just have put the program in the game?

Just wish they would release the pre-load, because 18 gigs is going to take FOREVER to download when everyone and their brother release day is going to be downloading it

Heh, it was a pun based on the fact that we're discussing a game in the nforce forums, the premier site of nfo's and discussions about pirated games and presumably where an overwhelming majority can't be bothered to pay. Wink

I do wish more people would feel inclined to show support for games/developers that make games they enjoy. Otherwise we wouldn't have the bias towards consoles (5x the sales) over PC's. It's not an ideology, it's common sense: if more people showed support for games they enjoy, developers and publishers would be more inclined to make new games for that audience. PC gaming isn't dying, it's just stale at the moment while console sales drive the market.

because even if they did that, someone would complain that there was some propriety piece of crap video creation software that was embedded in the game that only uploads to one site as default..and that it was just bloating the size of the game installer and how they wish it was optional

Hey Rockstar! are you there? listen to me: the next GTA you develop should be 100% FREE, based in online play most of the time, with a online store for buy some beautiful clothes and so on, so people download it FREE, play it for FREE, and you (Rockstar) make a LOT of money with millions of online transactions buying the online store stuff.

I thought this game would definitely be one of the few games actually WORTH buying. But not when I saw all the junk required to install the game. F That. I rather not buy the game and not play multiplayer than install some social network donkey dick crap.

If there is one damn thing I HATE the most is having to REGISTER for ANYTHING on the internet. This shit requires TWO REGISTRATIONS!!!!!!! I'm sure they send you email to verify your email. NO Fing WAY!
