some guy who made up alot of shit and faked alot of suicides actually killed himself live on cam, people thought he was faking again and flamed him a shit load and then a cop walked into the room and they realised it wasn't a joke.

previously a member made a thread about killing president bush and the SS actually requested info and visited him.

news is news and I happen to think this is funny because the trolls ended up eating their own words and having to edit every post out after because now a group is trying to target the sites and the members, obviously nothing will come of it but it's still funny to me. well, you got a point there. I wouldnt go so far as calling it "poetic justice", but thats usually one of the many reasons to commit suicide (to make others eat their words and feel petty afterwards...). It s not funny to me though, but i wont argue any further, because humour is a strange beast anyways and if it floats your boat i m not putting holes in the hull

Nah it really is funny. Only because the guy has done this numerous times which were all taken seriously. After he's hoaxed his suicide a couple times everybody considered him a big joke which is why the mod on their forum Roxie clowned on him but later apologized after hearing the news.

And now we have the "I'm disgusted with you people" people who sit back and point fingers at those who didn't act appropriately. Nothing could have been done regardless of whether or not the forum egged him on, it's called personal responsibility and this kid showed the desire to end his life on many occasions. He wanted to go so he went.

Yes please close the news section. Laughing

The web is not the place to be looking for help or sympathy and especially not a place like bodybuilding.com. That place is probably filled with macho jock types with posters of chuck norris and arnold on their walls. But I bet all forums have their own assholes as our own spazz99 proves.

That site is one of the most informative and knowledge filled places I've been on. Of course if you stereotype like that, it's your first impression. If you actually go on the site, the only people that I imagine would bash that forum are those not interested in physical fitness.

And no it's "Probably" not filled with those types (Nothing wrong with Arnold, he is a legend in the sport. As for Chuck I dunno where that came from Laughing ) There are wide variety of people on there and most of the members are people trying to adopt a healthy life style. So Shhhh it. Laughing

My stereotyping of the site was a knee-jerk response because I was pissed-off at the site for not controlling their trolls. And even if the guy had made similar threats in the past it is still not okay to dismiss such a claim or worse, encourage someone. I would rather that every such claim be taken seriously and if it turns out to be fake then throw the faker in prison for causing a panic. You can't not take a suicide threat seriously because the one time you do, shit like this happens.

I don't understand the spoiler and where it's coming from. You see there is a huge difference between bodybuilding and weight lifting/working out. The vast majority of members on that site are recreational weight lifters who just wanna look good for the ladies. I honestly think the forums name is a terribly wrong representation of the population itself.

Those teenagers and mid twenty year old members aren't aspiring bodybuilders, instead they join to make progress logs and seek advice toward getting in shape. I've gotten a shit load of info on lifts from that site and can't see any reason for any negativity + the misc section is hilarious.

But the main problem is that the misc section on that site is comprised of 50% obnoxious teenagers who just wanna get a laugh. The mods are pretty pro active in there it's just after the 300th suicide threat it's bound to not be taken seriously. And again, I believe in personal responsibility. Whatever the "interwebz" did to influence his decision was probably no where near as significant as the underlying justification for his actions.

nah the guy got a ban for something else, it's like somethingawful where you get banned for being a twat in the wrong section for a few days. I don't see how anybody can blame the mod, the guy made several attempts before which turned out to be a hoax; the boy who cried wolf.

The websites (bodybuilding and that webcam place) are going to catch some serious flak from the police and it will be upto them to prove that either they did everything possible to alert the authorities or they couldn't have prevented it or known it was serious. Not to mention those civil lawsuits.
