Newest NFS is as bad as it could be and there is no other racing game coming in near future, so name some older racing games that still work like they should on new cops and are fun to play.

My all-time favourite is without a doubt the very first one, The Need For Speed from 1995, followed by Hot Pursuit. However, if not including cops, my favourite is definitely Motor City Online, developed by the Vancouver-based EA Black Box. I've never been so addicted and excited about a game, despite having to pay 10 dollars a month for the online subscription.
Too bad they pulled the plug on this awesome game. Rumours say it was so they could focus on The Sims Online..? Looking back, not such a great move by EA. Fools.
I have a huge NFSHS dir with a huge list of cars. Beware though, you have to use a car list manager, as there is a 50 cars hard limit, so you have to swap them around.
GRID, best racing game I've ever played, and I'm pretty sure it scales down if needed. My only complaint is theres no money system for damage done to your car :\
have to agree with ^^.. laid back with only one hand at your steering wheel, a big joint in the other one, and adoring the scenery... Played them all, love the porsche version the most
Can Hot Pursuit 2 be counted as a an old racing game yet? I really liked that game, it had cool look and feel to it. It's one of my favorite NFS games before pimp my ride era.
not the new one, but back in the days EA started kind of right with STCC, also a classic, and what about driver (1), broke the force feedback string in my Trustmaster crap wheel, but I thought it was quiet cool because software broke my hardware
High Stakes, Porsche Unleashed and Underground 2( hated the tuner cars, but the tuning system was amazing, so was the 'X' racing mode or whatever it was called ) are the best NFS games I'd say, with Porsche a small leap ahead of the others with the excellent driving physics and damage model.
The perfect NFS game would have the cars from High Stakes/ Hot Pursuit 2, the driving physics from Porsche, the tuning/upgrade system from Underground 2, and possibly the campaign mode from High Stakes( or maybe something new altogether ).
Anyway, anyone know if we'll ever get Forza 2 for the PC? Never tried the game, but the car list looks amazing.
