Works fine here.
Try what Lutzifer said,
or try editing some registry entrys, cause its saved in there.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\EA Games\Need for Speed Undercover
g_Width = 1024
g_Height = 768

There also some graphics options in there that aint in ingame,
like g_RoadReflectionEnable, g_ShaderDetailLevel, g_RainEnable
Anyone try to edit those yet?
-----------------------------------

A higher value @ g_CarLodLevel will reduce quality on traffic cars, i Tryed a value of 2.

Setting g_Refresh from 60 to desired Hz, in my case 85.
looks like its even smoother now?

Anyone else test plz

Any one find the throttle response and general responsiveness of the cars to be pure shit? I don't understand why the developers have been slowly crippling the cars worse and worse each game. It seriously feels like there are bananas in the exhaust pipes. You get off the throttle and the car sluggishly engine brakes, than you get back on it and it makes some burbling noises with a 2 second pause where it begins accelerating again.

It seriously pisses me off when you get off throttle mid corner and get back on it and your car refuses to accelerate for half the corner. Crying or Very sad

I'm also getting annoyed by the overly active camera with the behind car view. It's like going skydiving every race.

I'm one comment away from deleting this poor game.

Last chance : I absolutely love Most Wanted ! Will I like this ? Or should I drop it like a hot potato ?

It grows on you while the constant graphical problems wear on you (a car that can drive faster that the game can render aint good). Gameplay isnt that bad but is very easy (cop crap is slightly harder than races). I'd say try it for yourself, at least then your complaints will carry some merit. Smile IMO, GRiD was a much better looking game, the devs of MW2/U should have taken some lessons from them on how to produce a nice looking game that performs well.

as OG said, it grows on you. Or at least on me it did. Later races become somewhat "challenging" and i was less annoyed by the games downfalls. But it definitely leaves room for improvement on many fronts.

Could be due to the road reflection? In this game, all the roads are super wet and reflect everything (maybe wet roads explain the bad car controls?)

Something's wrong with your shit. 8800GT 512mb, 4gb ram, x2 5000+ B.E., and Vista x64 here and @1680x1050 (6xAA + AF + VSYNC iirc) max detail I get around 25-30fps.

What's the exact setting for g_Refresh? Is it a DWord value? Would love to get it from 60 to 85, since it gives me a headache after 5 minutes. :/

It seems like i have to wait for a patch to be able to play this game. To bad because i thought that this game might be a worthy sequal to MW.

just search the registry for the string. It s a dword entry with hexadecimal values. 85 is 55 in hex, instead of the 3c for 60...

Yey! Thankees. Very Happy

Game plays soooooooo much better with 85hz, vsync and reloaded crack. Actually fairly enjoyable, to be honest. Wouldn't buy the game, but good enough to leave installed until I need the space for something better. Smile

I gotta say, after using the reloaded crack it got rid of ALL stuttering that was there before using the darkc0der crack.. Was playing on 1024x768 before now I'm playing on 1600x1200 all at max. Graphical glitches are still there though, which mean's that's probably EA's fault.

I uninstalled the game after 15 minutes. And I loved Most Wanted. I refused to believe the negative comments until I had tried it myself. And after trying it myself I can only state: "RIP NFS"

I'll be honest... I tried. I really did. Being a long time fan of the NFS series I gave this game more time than I would have ANY other racing game this bad. If this were release under a new game title I would have uninstalled it in about 15 minutes. Being that it was a NFS game, I gave it more time hoping it would somehow get better.

It didn't. The reviews are right, and so is everyone here. It is just bad.

Yeah, I installed and played it ... it just sucks bad. What the fuck is up with the handling ? And the graphics ? And the "story" ? And the control mapping ?

Some keys are double-mapped and they do 2 things at once, like changing camera and opening up some EA connection attempt. Also, I don't see my mouse !

First there was Carbon, which was way below the previous NFS games, then there was Pro Shit, now this strange unfinished crap.

I wish there was a way for publishers to unrelease a game.

P.S.: EA, plz stop making Need For Shit games for the next few years. Then we'll see.

You can just lower the world detail option a bit, seems that's exactly what it controls.
(Off is a bit ugly without any special lightning, low is quite good and medium is OK but a bit bright, high has some very nice shaders but is also extremely bright.)
