This game is SO fucking hard.
Gotta love the expert mode.
I made it to the final part of the last level of NO MERCY.
It was intense, and the team was really good. But we just couldn't make it.
Gotta try it again.
Really harder than the demo.
It's GOTY for sure. Really glad I bought it.

it's far more than that. best cooperative game play EVER. It's never the same. Full of twists and turn. NON STOP ACTION. you got the pinned down feeling. You got EVERYTHING.

survival co-op game mode is played out across four sprawling "Movies" set in
a variety of urban and rural environments. Each "Movie" has an over-riding
team objective, is comprised of five large maps, and may be played by 1 to
4 human players.
New technology dubbed "the AI Director" is used to procedurally generate a
unique experience each time the game is played. Just as in Hollywood films,
the Director calls for new monsters, sounds, and action as it tailors the
gameplay experience based upon the team's performance.
Left 4 Dead is a multiplayer co-operative survival horror first-person
shooter
game by Valve Corporation. The game uses the Source game engine, and is
available for Windows-based personal computers and the Xbox 360.

Left 4 Dead puts four human playable or AI controlled survivors of an
apocalyptic pandemic against hordes of aggressive "Infected" zombies in a
cinematic backdrop in which the players "star" as each character in a
fictional movie. The Survivors' goal is to help each other make it through
various scenarios to safety. The Infected are controlled by an AI that
dynamically balances difficulty and mood depending on the players' progress
and situation. In an alternate game mode, human players can control up to
four different monsters with special abilities and cooperate to stop the
Survivor players.
It was released on November 18, 2008 in the United States and November 21,
2008 in Europe to coincide with the tenth anniversary of the release of
Half-Life. A five-minute trailer was released on Halloween. A
public demo was released on November 6 for pre-purchasers and was released
for the general public on November 11 for both systems. The demo contains
the first two out of five maps of the "No Mercy" campaign and is playable
in both single player and multi-player. Left 4 Dead went gold on
November 13, 2008.

Speed should be OK I downloaded preload at max speed of my connection and download isn't even that big, like 2-3 gigs.
As many people already stated this is THE ULTIMATE coop experience, like nothing seen before. Buy it asap

Support Valve, buy this game. It's the first game I've bought this year, and I've never gotten so much value for my money in a game. I played through the No Mercy campaign on expert with 3 friends, it was so much fun. Then we played some versus on the Blood Harvest campaign. Versus was a blast too, such a great feeling playing as the tank.

You have to add me to the buddy list, cuz i gots no budhey's two pway wif ... 
im dead serieus ... im the only buddy in my steam list ... its downloading however, so you've got another hour with your "real" buddy's
EDIT, Second game i bought this year btw .... spore was the first, never doing that again *well look at me, doing it again, fingers crossed that its better...
