is it the bit where you place the head and pull the lever? because you jump the gap there so you don't need a draw bridge |
I just entered the mexico underground bike part, jaguar switch on the right (can't use it), and only way is left into the corridor, come down 2 stairs, and I'm on the side where's there 2 trees, with 2 skeleton on each wall, and bit further on towards the ledge, both side of these skeleton wall pattern. There's a gap there, according to some users in GAMEFAQS.com, there's suppose to be a ramp that's already up, but this is down for me, making this impossible jump.
I just burned the game again, same thing, even played the previous level too, i'm out of ideas, i'm banned from xbox live, does the game patch itself on first play or something? cause this is obviously a bug for me, but only on my xbox? shame, cause i love this game. |
Right i remember that bit, I've just been reading the gamefaq pages and saw your post on there so i have something to try for you. When i came to that bit i didnt think I'd need the bike so i went along down the corridor on foot until i came to the jump so only then did i go back to get the bike (the ramp was already raised at this point). came back and jumped over two ramps, but the third you have to use some poles to bring the ramp down. Try it, hope it helps.

what's so hard about it? It's the same as the rest, but you drop off it on to the platform in the middle of it's swing.

Yes, but you still use the chain to get across, keep tapping y while moving the oppsite direction of the chain to move faster.

Just completed this, enjoyed every minute of it except when i kept failing at one bit or didn't know where to go. Enemies become way to easy when you have the hammer but it's fun knocking them flying off the boat.

Spoiler: | i'm stuck in thailand, with the big statue with the arms... i managed to get the right arm down, and it seems i need to put something in his hand...so the sun will reflect it... Haven't found anything to put in there yet; i just found something in the halls across the statue where u have to put the cage under. But i guess it was just a treasure...since it doesn't give me the option to put it in the hand of sheeva
Also, it seems that i have to get to the other side also...how do i do that? since i can't rope my way up there;
do i have to do something with those 2 moveable statues downstairs? (haven't figured that out too how to put them in right order)
anyone? |
anyone? i'm really stuck here

Spoiler: | You need the statues later to reflect 2 beams of light, but for now you haven't gone to the main part of the level. Go back down to where the moving statues are, there should be an entrance there on the left (when facing away from the massive arm moving statue) |

lol why aren't there more posts about this game? I know there have been other great games this month but I finally got round to it and finished the 1st chapter, and it's just plain amazing, best TR to date (and I loved Legend to bits). I bought Legend, will probably buy this one also.
And I haven't seen the PC version so I can't compare, but I think it looks awesome on my hdtv, and probably one of the prettiest looking 360 games I've played to date.
One word to describe this game? Epic.

I am loving this game, it is the best TR since the original. The puzzles are great, graphics gorgeous, lighting and fire are lovely and the story is pretty cool.

Strangely, I really like the demo of this game. The last Tomb Raider game that I actually liked was Tomb Raider 2 for Playstation1. After that the series just went downhill. But this Tomb Raider Underworld feels a lot like TR2 which is pretty damn awesome. I think il check out the full version this week.

Yep it has a nice vibe, only downfall is the shooting, fighting those tigers is a pain in the ass and firing your guns doesnt like to have any impact and doing any damage to enemy's.
But i sure as hell gonna try the full game this weekend.

Stuck a few times myself, but managed to do it without help or a walkthrough, so yay me I have to say though, Legend felt a lot tighter on the controls. I find I'm missing jumps, or Lara will do the complete opposite of what I want, never mind if I'm facing the right way or in the right pose. That one part with the blue glowy water, where you had to open the dragon mouths to escape...I must've died 100 times before she finally caught the damn ledge. Checkpoints are frequent though so I didn't mind dieing alot.
Combat is 100% bullshit. Playing on Tomb Raider difficulty, but god damn it takes like 100 bullets do down one spider. I love how when they lunge at you and you roll out of the way the spiders change direction in mid air so they still hit you. Gun play consists of constantly mashing the B button to roll around like a your some...thing that rolls alot, while occasionally shooting. I noticed too on human opponents, it'll take like 25 bullets or 2 kicks to the head....yah that makes sense.
It's a solid Tomb Raider title, but not nearly as good as Legend. The main draw of games like this is the climbing, puzzle solving, and overall acrobatics, so it's very dissapointing to have so many glitchy moves. She looks and feels so clumsy this time around, too. How the hell did that happen? Notice on some jumps the way she stumbles? What's up with that...this is Lara Croft, you'd think by now she'd have her repitoire down pat. Ah well, in the end I did enjoy the overall experience. The level design is the best feature, with alot of great "ok...how the hell do I get up there" moments, so that alone is worth it. Be prepared to yell a lot though
i can has computar?!

Ive been playing this game all day. Just finished the Coastal Thailand mission an hour ago. It took me all day to beat this 1 mission lol but nothing beats the feeling you get after completing it. Im loving this game a lot but mman it does give you some severe headaches!
And as for the spiders and animals, I always pack an assault rifle before missions

i like it too, the other tombraider games on the xbox have been no fun since the puzzles were too easy, as was the climbing. theres a bit more challenge this time around which makes it a better tombraider i think.
