A few vids (each 10+ mins long) with good quality. English is spoken but with all the noise in the background it is sometimes hard to understand what it is they are saying. Lots of things are shown, vehicles, features, gfx improvements, bugs but it is still under development. Smile

One of the videos holds proof that in Arma2 you will be able to reload your weapon while moving.

Hahhah. Jesus... Sounds like BI is inventing the wheel again. Laughing
Read your post again and think about it. How silly that sounds now in 2008 Wink

BI devs haven't done anything right after original OFP. Fuck them i say. They are like some of the bands. They make one good album and the rest of the material is pure shit.

OFP2 is something worth waiting IMO. Or i hope so...

awful AI, childish storyline, bad optimization, tons of bugs SHIPLOADS (YES SHIP) OF HYPE
etc etc..one PC developer that I hope fucks off to the consoles.

and yeah, I know, most tards/rednecks think this is some sort of hardcore military simulator, blah blah blah its not a simulator, Il-2 is a simulator, this is hardcore version of Novalogics' delta force.

Yup and after what i understand its goin to have more destructable scenery than arma2. Arma2 will only have the same destructable things as arma1.
And prolly gonna need as much patching too...

Operation Flashpoint 2 is currently just an exercise in PR - if that's something worth waiting for I lament the way the industry is 'evolving'. ArmA was a stop gap, a way to make some money in-between the REAL sequel and possibly to cement the brand-name before Codemasters got out there (and launched a PR war). Judge them on ArmA 2.

Bullshit interactive about to try and scam the public again?

Flashpoint was a great game (and I bought several copies of it) and I give BIS respect for that but ArmA was horrible and ArmA 2 is basically an addon that they are going to try and push at full price because they know OFP 2 (developed by codemasters) will effectively sink their cash boat.

FFS, rain still falls through buildings in ArmA (2 years after release) along with numerous other problems that have never been fixed in favour of a retail add on and now ArmA 2 which is nothing more than ArmA in a different locale with some of the things that were promised for ArmA over two years ago bolted on for good measure.

Ill pir8 the hell out of it to be sure but I won't give BIS a dime and you can take that to the bank.

Was there ever a working release of the original ArmA? Seeing as how the language the game installed in was tied to the keycode used, and that no matter what version/patch I tried it always had the "turn into birdy" trigger enabled - I wouldn't have high hopes for playing a non-legit version due to their nasty little protection scheme.

I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

They removed the protection in 1.14 and it was pirated before that (the securom version anyway).

The digital download version had Starbollox on it, but most companies know better than to use that shit these days. I know Lock-on : Blackshark will prolly use Starbollox and its the only time I will ever make an exception. Lock-on is worth the money, although there have been many threads on the ED forums (which get closed quickly) about how much most customers object to it.

arma2 an update?
it's what was supposed to be ofp2 back in the day
true dynamic campaign and all that
arma1 was more like an update of ofp1
we knew what it was from since it was announced
none of arma2 features were promised as part of it

and if things like raining indoors or such simulation-irrelevant details is a real deal breaker for you, please go play our call of doody or crysis or any other shiny generic pre-packaged hollywood experiences and let us play the still ONLY medium scale infantry combat simulator out there

Who cares, all after ofp and addons was shit. They won't recreate "the epic" that ofp single player was.

Yes, game breaking bugs are a "deal breaker" for me and Im not talking about the rain. Idiots like you who are constantly apologising for shoddy, half baked games are the reason developers keep releasing them. They know that little fanboi's like you will be there drooling, credit card in hand, ready to buy their latest beta production that will be about half complete before they announce ArmA 3 (which will just be ArmA again, but in Pakistan or Iran).

arma1 WAS crap as a "new game"
it was a plain update, just as it was advertised
there were bugs but very little game breaking ones
can't think of any that remain anymore

in any case, it was a side dish, a commercial addon that had to be a full game for contractual reasons
bad excuses, yes
but arma2 is not an addon to that, but the NEW game they had worked on since ofp1
and i'm not a "fanboi"
i never buy without trying first.. 90% of the time i'm looking for disappoints, and this is no exception
but i am hopeful

I believe they just removed the CD check from the game with that patch. The "turn you into bird" protection is probably still there.

While I agree that ArmA wasnt such a big deal I still got, and am still getting, lots of fun out of it. Since ArmA2 is a new engine (I think) things have been improved considerably compared to ArmA. Hey, in ArmA2 you will be able to reload your weapon while moving. Very Happy

As the guy above said, ArmA2 is the "Game2" they announced some time after OFP was released. But a few things they wanted to put into "Game2" have not been included in ArmA2 like dynamic campaigns.

Either way I am looking forward to ArmA2.

really?
i'm fairly sure it was mentioned it had two or three campaigns, one being dynamic
if it's not in, it indeed is bullshit
there's dynamic campaign mods for ofp and arma1 already
