I have never understood the double standards non-vegetarians have with regard to eating dog meat. It is like one life-form has priority over another and it is quite okay to eat cattle, pigs, chickens and even horses but when it comes to dogs or cats those same people are like 'ewwww' and 'gross' and 'barbarians'. Hypocrisy at its best. Either you accept eating meat as a way of life and make no distinction at all or you consider every life equally precious and go vegan or vegetarian.
Edit: I do take offence at the way dogs/cats for slaughter are treated in some places and we've probably all seen the same film about them being boiled/skinned alive. But I don't think the dogs/cats were singled out for such mistreatment and that was a systemic problem affecting all animals in those countries.

You've never heard/seen people keeping pigs as pets? And what about horses? People go to great lengths to keep their horses comfortable and I'm not talking just race horses. If you haven't then that says more about you than me.

Yes, you just want to pretend you are more 'civillised' because you don't eat dogs/cats but are quite comfortable with the concept of you (or other people) eating other animals. Whatever helps you feel superior.

I Love chinese food, the real stuff. I have had chicken feet and I didn't care for them. I think I would of liked them better if they had been crispy. Dim Sum is to dye for. I tend to pass up the organ cart that comes around.

Dogs have a much richer personality than cows, sheeps, pigs and chickens have. Therefore I think it makes them look more 'human' in our eyes.

Indeed, but it's still the same damn thing. Just because we are more attached to one animal doesn't make killing that particular animal for food any more or less morally right.
