Why not pour kerosine over your body, light it, and be done with it, its a quicker death than the slow and painful death of that pillow lighting up your room in the midst of a hot wet dream:)

do europeans celebrate halloween dude? or is it just an NA thing? and by celebrate I dont mean the mystical aspect to it, I mean kids going around trick or treating and dressing up in costumes and the whole horror movie watching ritual?

Its funny you should ask, cuz 5 years ago(and I'm from Belgium), we didn't celebrate halloween, there was just nothing, now all of a sudden you got pumpkins, bats, they have night walks with candles and shit, it just flew over from the US, as quickly as the cellphone market picked up, thats how quick Halloween got here. And the fucked up thing is that it has got fucking nothing to do with our culture, its a pelgrims festival, its inherent to american culture, not european.

It wasn't exactly a topic ripe for discussion though was it.

@Yon and Pf
Thats what I thought. Halloween is a NA thing.
And by the way, Canada has celebrated halloween as long as the US has and the mexicans have celebrated it longer (tho i think they call it something different, day of the dead and it has to do more with mysticism and spirituality than eating candy and watching horror movies, cause that whats Halloween is really about tho the meaning of it has been lost over the years...like other holidays).
The Americans didnt invent Halloween (or All Hallows Eve as it was originally called).

In sweden we have an old holiday called Allhelgonadagen, celebrated on the 1:st of november in memory of those who've died. Halloween was brought to sweden for commercial purposes 6-7 years ago, and is readily usurping the original holiday.

I have asked this same thing to a guy thats 57 years, and he asked his grandfather, someone who was still alive way before WWII and apparently back then we did celebrate Halloween in Europe, after the war this stopped, dunno why. So its been about 60 years without Halloween and lately its picked up again.

Halloween was originally a celtic festival which celebrated the end of the harvest season in gaelic culture.
